Look who Ouma might be fighting.

Shannon Taylor! Apparently, this guy (who got battared by Richard Williams) has worked his way to the mandatory position.
The guy has had some serious drug problems and looked finished during the Williams fight. This fight could be ugly.

Williams, much as i like the guy, was never really able to capitalise on the Taylor performance. Taylor, if i remember rightly, was world ranked at the time, and i really thought that fight would have given Williams a push to get some decent fights. Wrong choice of opposition (easy to say in hindsight), he looked poor against Samuels, and Martinez was way too good.
I remember the good old lightmiddle days too. I even remember thinking that this youngster called Lockett was going to be the pick of the bunch.

who knows he may yet turn out ot be, I thought he looked quite sharp in last outing.
Id like to see Wayne get a shot at Santos next year to round off his career, whom while being at times a canny boxer and undoutedly a big favourite is prone to nodding off in the middle rounds, one thing you cant afford to do with Wayne is go to sleep, cos he will ensure you stay alseep.

I am a fan of Shannon Taylor but i fear his best days are behind him.I know Williams clocked him but i believe(having not seen the fight)that Taylor was winning.SAme as in the fight b4 that he lost to Julian Holland.Dont think Taylor has been the same since Mosley destroyed hime. Not sure how much the drugs did really affect him but the modern Taylor is very flat footed having seen his last 2 bouts.Cannot see him lasting long vs a quality fighter. He just seems to get lazy and complacent and gets hit then goes down. In days of old Taylor would get hit then get pissed off. While i am pleased he will get another shot(despite probably not deserving it-his recent pponents have not been the best)i think it will be the end of the road for him. however that said should Ouma get complacent and treat him lightly then he could be in for a shock.Anyway i am an aussie so go Shannon.BUT i do pray if he does get koed bad again that he retires.Anyone know when the fight is taking place if it has been confirmed that is.

I still think that Lockett will do something as a pro, to get down to light middle was obviously killing him.
looked impressive in his last fight, even if the stoppage was a bit early.
Seems to have got used to Middleweight now, as he said after the Monaghan bout he needs the bigger names to get himself motivated
Would love to see him in against Scott Dann, that would be a real 50/50 fight.

i think he needs another couple of fights before fighting Dann, Scott is decent boxer who carries a whack too, he totally destroyed unbeaten bendall recently, I dont think its 50/50 at this juncture. Dont think Gary is ready to take on the underrated westcountrylad just yet.
Scott has said he has come back a much better fighter since figthign eastman, reckons he learned a lot, his destruction of Bendall seems to bear this out.

Lockett's best opponent at middleweight has been someone with 10 defeats on his record. Granted, Dann hasn't fought that much of a better class of opponent. However, I still think it would be wise if Lockett fought someone ranked between himself and Dann before challenging for the title.
If the BBBoC put the once proposed Lockett vs Elcock match as an eliminator, I would tip the winner of that one to beat Dann.
Lockett vs Farnell, or even vs Bendall as an eliminator would be good matches also.

Spoke to him the other friday at the york hall and he reckons another defence of the Londsale b4 year out then retain for his own and go after santos next year?
seemed a bloody nice bloke though either way Ill be shouting for him.
Moore vs Alexabder would be a great match up.
sorry mate going mad, you are quite right, thats a bit weird then.
Thats sure what I thought he said though in a packed pub I could have misheard, what was that for the WBU. Must have meant another defence of that then.
either way he was a decent lad who took time out in the pub to spare 10 mins so credit to him.
Poor old kev was left shivering out in the cold waiting for his pint lol!
