sadly Sweet Science - he's been that way for a while. I actually thought he looked better than in other recent pics.

It's always sad to see Ali like that.
Hatton looked really bad I thought, even more so than usual.
Made me wonder for the first time if he will ever come back.

I'm meeting him at Windsor castle for an exclusive gala reception and dinner on Friday. Henry Cooper, Amir Khan and British boxing greats will be in attendance. It will be an emotional day.
He's purely trying to raise money for his charity during this tour, and I applaud him for that.

Re: Ali at Hatton's GYM...
Im glad the money raised is for charity, as sadly it somewhat smacks of a freakshow at times. The guy cant walk unassisted, doesnt speak and looks really really ill. I applaud him for taking the time to do this for his charity, but surely theres an easier way.

Have to, sadly, agree. You can see he still has mental acuity (his response to the snapper's request to remove his glasses) so it must be absolute torture to be trapped like that. If he still wants to get out and about then he should be helped to do so.opticald wrote:He looked worse than I have ever seen him.
Conversely, either I'm getting used to looking at a really overweight Hatton (almost certainly) or he looked like he'd dropped a bit of weight in that BBC clip.

its partly his fault though if the stuff is true that he was on the parkinsons drugs when he fought holmes, i wish he wasnt like that.Ian 'Mr' McNeilly wrote:Have to, sadly, agree. sad the way he's declined over the years. :(

Re: Ali at Hatton's GYM...
Im the same Ian , i reckon Hatton doesnt look as bad out of shape as people make out
Hes always put on weight after fights , alot of boxers are like that and he is small so it is easier to pile it on, Clearly he doesnt look like a boxers condition but thats cause he needs to train like a beast to get to that stage. im sure he isnt Drinking and Eating takeaways everynight although maybe he is .
hes earned himself a good living anyway thats for sure

Re: Ali at Hatton's GYM...
The party line from most boxing people re Ali's Parkinson's is that he would probably have got it anyway (didn't his non-boxing father have it? - a top journo told me this so correct me if I'm wrong).Adamj1987 wrote:its partly his fault though if the stuff is true that he was on the parkinsons drugs when he fought holmes, i wish he wasnt like that.Ian 'Mr' McNeilly wrote:Have to, sadly, agree. But listening to Henry Cooper on 5 Live at the weekend, he said that Ali's doctor had told him it was caused by taking too many blows to the back of the neck/top of the spine.
Weird.

I remember seeing a story about him crossing the road back in the US, he was struggling badly and people kept going over to help him but he wouldn't have any of it.
