R & J for World Championships are announced

Post by Dennis »

AIBA just released the list of the 45 R & J who will officiate at the World Championships. The USA has one Miguel Angel Rosario. I don't know him, but I congratulate him on the achievement.

He goes by Mike and is out of NYC. His was a good 106 lb'er back in the day when Israel Acosta was active. They had many wars. Mike's father was Hector Camacho's coach when he was an amateur. His wife Mercedes is also active as a computer tech.

Nice to see Canadian buddy Pat Fiacco on the list, as well as India's Jay Kowli - two good boxing people. Am surprised to see a Vietnamese AIBA - I wasn't aware that Viet Nam had an active amateur boxing program.

Pat was and may still be the Mayor of Regina in Saskatchewan. He does have a brother that is also a R/J. I can't remember his name.

I know him. Frank, I think is his name. Came down to our show in Bozeman, brought a few boxers and all. Good guy.

Yep, that's him. I don't think Pat is still the Mayor in Regina - I have a Canuck friend I can ask.
