How in the world can you rank Fernando Vargas as the #1 middleweight? That's insane! Is he even fighting anymore?

How in the world can you rank Fernando Vargas as the #1 middleweight? That's insane! Is he even fighting anymore?

This is in scope:

1. We just see the problem with ranking the boxers in a correct division.

2. This issue is related to the the question - should a boxer simply keep his points, when he moves up (or down) the divisions - as we now do?

I suppose, the optimized rating in the new division should depend upon the rating in the old division, but there might be an optimized pointage between

- just keeping the old points and
- a complete re-start at 1,000 points in the new division.

I will try to find this optimized relation - maybe different for different different divisions - maybe depending on weight relations.

3. This would allow for assigning different pointages (ratings) to a boxer for different divisions he boxed in.

4. The correct division, where a boxer could be ranked officially, would then be

- the division, where he owns most points
- and where he has boxed in the last year
