FULL RESPECT TO WOODS....

Took some inhuman punishment and went all 12rds so full credit for a Brave performance but he needs to retire now.

CLOUD proves he is WORLD CLASS and LEGIT, going 12rds was great for him too especially after 1 year out.

Why does he need to retire when he managed to go 12 rounds with the amazing Tavoris Cloud?

There are saver ways to get your stomach turned upside down. Cleverly would rip him to the body. Certainly a fight Cleverly can approach after one or two more fights. Woods still offers enough for a young fighter to learn a lot. I´m sure Cloud grew as a fighter today, while Cloud won clearly it was by no means a sparring session against a badly faded fighter.

I must be the only one who isn't that impressed by Cloud. Maybe it was because he felt Woods didn't have the firepower, but Cloud took way too many punches. Twice Woods came out of the clinch and offered a glove to Cloud to acknowledge a misdemeanour but both times Cloud just ignored it and punched away. Thats a pretty poor move.

Give him to Chad Dawson and let him get his head taken off.

Well done to Woods for going the 12 but maybe its time to hang them up.

I think Woods vs Cleverly would be really good. I don't want to see Woods have many more fights though. I think it's important for his health that he don't fight beyond 2010.

Its a boxing match, people take punches no matter how how much they are dominating!

You were watching the wrong Fight if you wonder why Cloud didnt take the glove after each clinch as Woods had been hitting him on the back of the head and i liked the fact Cloud didnt take it as he was all Business.

CLOUD will destroy the over-rated Dawson who is too afraid to get in the ring with him...remember, Dawson was supposed to Fight him tonite and ran away and he'll keep running fighting old men. Anyway Cloud has called him out now so lets see if Dawson has the balls to take up the offer!

I thought Cloud looked a bit too wild, but Woods just couldn't get him going backwards. Cloud certainly has a lot to learn.

Someone is a Cloud fan.

Dawson fights old men? I forgot Woods was a spring chicken.

Of course you take punches, but its the amount you take and the nature you take them in that raises questions marks over defence.

Woods is a world class Fighter and was a Top 10 Light Heavyweight before the fight plus has years of experience and a super human chin so was always going to present Cloud with some problems.

One factor that could have effected Cloud somewhat was the fact he has been out the ring for 13 months and maybe lacked some timing and sharpness so going 12rds was actually a good thing for his future development.

That is very true. I wasn't factoring ring rust into the assessment but I still think he has a long way to go to be as good as he thinks he is.

Woods stated before the fight that he wouldn't drop back down to British level but if the moneys right he probably will end up in the ring with Cleverly.

Tarver and Johnson are/were top five rated when Dawson fought them, so your point about old men is nonsense.

116-112 on the cards then.

that's not bad for clinton.

sounds like he took a bit in the read ups though. :KO:

it's up to woods whether he carries on.

8 rds to 4 is respectable form against top 10 opponents.

makes ya laugh sometimes don't it.

they make it sound like 2 old codgers were wheeled out for a payday.

tarver and johnson are very good fighters.

i had dawson beating johnson 7 to 5.

and soundly beating tarver both times.

i think dawson would beat hopkins actually.

very under rated. :TU:

just reading around.

sounds like 116-112 was a bit kind on clinton.

he took his lumps as always and did a ok job by the sounds of it.

gotta admire clinton.

Hats off to Woods here. He is a tough bugger. I admit that I thought he would be put away before round 6

Cloud won it by a wider margin than the cards suggested for me though.

Have to say I was unimpressed by Cloud, looked wild, a little slow and squat and open to have his head jabbed off. As for the shots he landed, it is not as if Clinton is some unstoppable iron chinned warrrior or he was holding up under any furious barrage, he's a good honest fighter but if Cloud was anything special he should have been able to stop him or put him down and that never really looked like happening.

Dawson will box rings round Cloud.

I haven't seen Cloud but I expected him to stop Woods. Clinton may be dropped down and used as a stepping stone for either Cleverly or Bellew. He has had a sold, underrated world level career but taking punishment at this stage of his boxing career could damage his life after the sport.

Brave display by Clinton, but he was outworked and outgunned after some early success.

Not too impressed with Cloud based on that display, seems a bit wild, throws a lot of leather without much thought. I'd pick Dawson to beat him at this point.

Defo, the judges gave Clinton too much credit. 116-112 was too close
