Cotto Meets Corley on Williams vs. Klitschko Undercard

It's been a big year for Cotto and Top Rank is looking to cap it off with a win over DeMarcus Corley. They probably think if Cotto can stop Corley comparisons will be made with the performances of Judah and Mayweather against him. The thing that interests me about this fight though is how Cotto will handle a southpaw.

That's a good fight, considering we'll probably get this PPV. Is Vitali/Williams signed and sealed then? Keep reading about Vitali & his lawyers....

I think Corley goes the distance & Cotto gets an easy points win. What will Chop Chop be wearing this time? A chain mail pouch maybe?

He's being moved very shrewdly, this Cotto fella. I think anybody would be hard pressed to find fault in the match-making. He's been given almost every style of opposition out there, with a gradual increase in class. And i for one think it's the right way, if he's going to have a prolonged career at the top.

The fight itself should be an interesting test for Cotto. Corley, despite his recent defeats can fight, and IMO, he's the best Cotto will have had in front of him so far. Although Corley can be pretty slick and evasive at times, it's hard to go against the prospect. If Mayweather can hurt him, and put him down, it's difficult to see how Corley could be durable enough to last the distance with a much bigger man, and a much bigger puncher. This fight may certainly answer a couple more of the ever decreasing number of questions i have about Cotto.

i'm confused...i thought Cotto was supposed to appear on the Barrera-Morales undercard.

Very acceptable first title defence in my opinion. Chop Chop is a good fighter who, whilst on a losing run, is still young enough and ambitious enough to cause most in the devision problems.

Mayweather outclassed Chop Chop, but Mayweather would do that to pretty much every fighters. Judah certainly didn't outclass him.

I would still put Chop Chop in the top ten and in the Hatton bracket of the top ten definately.

Cotto should win, but its a good opponent for a first defence.

I would have bought the Williams/Vitali PPV regardless of the quality of the undercard, but having Cotto vs Corley on there is a very welcome undercard! Should be a good fight.

Forrest is on the undercard as well....he's a dark horse amongst the light middles, now his bogey man Mayorga is out of the picture.

Forrest has moved up - he was scheduled to fight Teddy Reid at Welter a few months ago. That would have been a good fight and I'd fancy placing a small wager on Reid.

that fight was gonna be at light middle i'm pretty sure. I remember thinking what was the point of fighting a blow up welterweight on your light middle debut. I'd be surprised if Forrest returns at Welter.

Corley is a good first defence, i can see cotto finishing him in the last few rounds. Who is forrest next going to fight, its seems ages since i last seen him fight
