IFF,
I shall put my scores up for Holmes-Williams soon.
When Collins is ready to do our open scoring. Why
don't you join us.
I have no problem with some one saying say,
Morrison SD 12 Ali, provided they make a decent case
for their OPINION> the trouble is too many attack the poster
of the bat and view differing opinions as though they are
heretics.
We are all peers and fans of the great sport of boxing, we
have more in common than we do differences, but boy our
differences bring out the tempers ;)
Morrison had some very real talents, was exciting and could
be a danger to a lot of guys. Heck he was trained by RockY !
HW tournament.

Re: HW tournament.
Why do I get the sense that if gambler had made it prime Ali vs. '83 Holmes that there would be more objections.
People are free to pick Morrison to beat '75 Ali, much less prime Cooney, but I do hope that they do not take up gambling.
I saw Holmes-Williams a month or so ago, I should have saved my score, but alright.

groovy
Collins will get a thread rocking when he is good to go.
I watched it about 3 mths ago. I dont mind seeing Holmes
make his come back after struggling to get the well deserved
nod ;)

We'll see. 11-4 is still a bad decision, even if you thought Holmes deserved it.

Yeah right, so now I'm being likened to some Lard Arse wimp or an old bitter drunk!Robinson wrote: We are all peers and fans of the great sport of boxing, we

Collins,
You will have to sit in the corner if you can not say nice things about
the others...

Totally agree with your thoughts regarding Patterson and Moorer.dempseyfire wrote:Thomas over Spinks by UD. There is a reason Spinks fought the likes of Tangstad instead of actual live bodies
Holmes UD over Ali. The slowing Ali gets soundly outjabbed.
Cooney demolishes the forever over-rated Morrison in two
Patterson by KO mid-rounds over Moorer. Amazed at how little credit Floyd gets on here. At his peak the guy was a destroyer. Moorer was a solid all-around fighter but really nothing special.

Re: HW tournament.
You can hang with Holyfield, you can hang with Patterson, IMO.
I do think Moorer's too patchy in his approach & discipline to beat Patterson, but it would be closer than some blow-out. It would be interesting to see how each responded to the others hitting prowess.
Would both guys hit the deck? Here, Patterson has probably shown more than Moorer, who, at his best, had more heart than given credit for. Even so, Patterson was bitterly gutsy.
