Ike Quartey comeback confirmed.

Post by stujones »

Ike Quartey has just signed to promoter Lou DiBella and is expected to take part in a low key comeback fight in his home country of Ghana as soon as he if fit.

Quartey is one of my faves, I do question what he has left at 35, whilst still impressive and world class he looked a faded force back in 2000 and I'm not sure if he is doing a wise thing.

I've always thought that Quartey vs Trinidad could have been one of the greatest fights of all time (I just think their styles would gell). Perhaps a pay day with Tito is his intention. It will be interesting to see what weight he will be, if at Middle I can see him futher hampering Eastman's chances of securing a world title shot.

Yeah it was a shame, Quartey-Tito would have made that trilogy of long-unbeaten Welterweight champs (DLH, Tito, Ike) a lot tidier.

As it was the 2 fights that did happen were terribly close and controversial, using that as a gauge it was a near certainty that Quartey-Trinidad would have been too.
