International Prizefighter

Post by rhino222 »

wonder if any of the promoters has considered organising an international veterens prizefighter, at heavyweight (perhaps 35+ years of age or similar, each fight perhaps 4 x 2 min rounds of slugfest, there must be at least 8 international veteren heavyweights who would like to throw 'bombs away' for a few mins for a few quid?

names please?

FOR £25000 , IT MAY BE A STRUGGLE TO ATTRACT NAMES TO BE HONEST . MAYBE AS ITS INTERNATIONAL THE PRIZE FUND COULD BE PUMPED TO £50 000 AND ALSO NEED TO ADD WHOEVER WINS THE NEXT PRIZEFIGHTER TO KEEP THE BRITISH INTEREST IN IT .
REALISTICALLY I THINK YOU COULD ATTEMPT TO ATTRACT , THE LIKES OF OLIVER MCCALL AND RIDDICK BOWE AS NAMES BUT WHO ELSE COULD BE REALISTICALLY BE PERSUADED WITH THE TYPE OF MONEY INVOLVED

i think another format could be, if there are 8 fighters, 4 of them could be british, and the other 4 fighters could be from another country. That way it would keep the british interest, yet with a bigger competetive 'motive'. This is just a suggestion, that could be improved. What do ya think?

well yeah, i think it would be a little bit more competitive than the normal prizefighter, and ultimately, there may be a better atmosphere.
When barry hearn's was on bunces boxin hour, he did mention something along those lines.

Holyfield would NEVER fight in a Prize fighter and the money would have to be $Millions for him to even listen to the concept.

Holyfield fighting for £50K? That would not cover his sparring partners for a routine 10 rounder.
