Campaign to get the Super Six Boxing Classic Televised Live

Post by Losfer_Words »

Hello, Boxrec Forum. I'm a noob (STFU noob!) crossing over from ESB for a brief message. Hopefully we can all get your support. Many thanks if you choose to sign:

Very soon, one of the most groundbreaking sports tournaments in recent history will be taking place: The 'Super Six World Boxing Classic'. This tournament will pit some of the world's best Super Middleweight boxers against each other in a thrilling new concept to determine just who is the greatest Super Middleweight boxer of this current generation. Some of the names who are taking part include: Carl Froch, WBC World Champion (one of just two of Britain's current world champions); Mikkel Kessler, WBA World Champion; Jermaine Taylor, former Undisputed Middleweight World Champion; Arthur Abraham, former IBF World Middleweight Champion.

Sounds brilliant, doesn't it? Well, amazingly, this incredible tournament is not being televised in the UK or Ireland. This is just another instance where the boxing fanbase is being shortchanged yet again. We pay a licence fee (BBC), we subscribe to channels (ESPN and Sky Sports) and we pay hefty PPV prices (Sky Box Office), but still we are being left out.

I would love to see this groundbreaking tournament televised live to both the casual fan (who normally doesn't get the chance to see such stellar fights) and also to the hardcore boxing fanbase. It's a disgrace that this tournament will not be televised in the UK or the Republic of Ireland, in my opinion. We keep hearing that 'boxing is dying' but the sports stands absolutely no chance when potential and current fans are being left out like this.

I have created a petition aimed at drumming up support to get this tournament televised live. The petition can be found at:

Feel free to sign up for the good of boxing. Every signature counts.

Thanks again!

I don't mind whether I see this live or not, so long as I get to see it.
