Choi Tseveenpurev: ‘Licence Suspended’

Post by nh1 »

The latest notice from the British Boxing Board of Control says that Choi’s licence ‘remains suspended’ until he appears before the Central Area Council. I notice Spencer Fearon has been called to their next meeting, too…

Can someone enlighten me as to what’s going on here? I just hope there are no further work permit problems for Choi…

And if Spencer reads this, can he tell us what his plans are for Choi’s next fight, please?

I think its because he's still under contract to his manager jack Doughty but fighting for Spencer Fearon.

it appears that beating matthews was actually the worst thing that he has done in his career!

no-one seems to want to fight him. shame, as he is a ferocious fighter who could have gone places.

maybe the MC's around the country dont want him the bills as they cant pronounce his name!!!

a cracking fighter and a lovely fella too.

Good enough to have earned 50 times what he actually has. I was blown away by what he did to Derry Matthews, what a job!

That's boxing.

rubbish, and if he hadn't been avoided like the black death we'd have seen a lot more of it.

He destoryed Matthews but he was getting outboxed, just he was made of iron and can punch, skill wise he isn't a talent.

Matthews got put down 3, maybe 4 times? The fight lasted 5 rounds? 4?......he was crumpled like a piece of paper.

It is ludicrous to suggest Matthews, or anyone for that matter, was "out" anything against anyone when they got put down as heavily nearly as many times as the number or rounds boxed. And don't forget , Matthews was a name on that promotion, he'd obliterated the Manc over the late rounds, whose name escapes me........Andy Morris? Steve Foster Junior??......I'd have guessed Morris based on Foster's awesome performance against Arthur, but I don't remember. Either way, Derry was Brit title level and Choi hammered him like he wasn't there. He puts it down to Yak's milk as a kid.....and I have a feeling he wasn't joking.

Very underrated and most definatley avoided.

Very strong, strong fighter - I'd have like to see him when he was 25-26 yrs old, he really would have gone places imo.

Shame his ability never warranted what it should have and yet we have fighters nowhere nears as good or as strong etc..fighting for and winning 'World Titles'.

True shame.

guys, this guy had his chance to show what he can do earlier in his career and lost vs Ledwaba or Agapito Sanchez or someone, he really was never going to make any waves at world level.

Don't see why flattening an area level fighter like derry mathews made people think he was the real deal but whatever, its still a shame hes having trouble getting fights.

Yeah, he has fought around the world, and lost four times- once to Willie Limond. Not sure if anyone saw that, but the scorecard was 59-56.

Thanks, Jonny. Someone over at ESB says the same thing. So it's a managerial issue...

Still hope he gets a title chance!

Both fighters are on the sidelines due to contractal problems with their management
