20 people being better than doesn't make a difference. I agree he wouldn't be number 1 but he would have gone top 5 if he beat pacman.

how dont 20 other fighters being better dont make a differnce ?

First of all, Bradley beats the number two by a domination in his hometown, knocking him down in the process. Magignaggi stinks out the joint against Ndou (who beat him the first time but got jobbed) and gets the decision in an absolute non event.

And in your opinion Malignaggi should be rated higher than the man who dominated the number 2? Not how it works for me pal. bradley was ahead of him for one. Also i would personally have definitely had Kotelnik ahead of him, as well as Holt, Torres and Urango (I accept the last 3 are debatable but in terms of who beats who, I think they all take Maglinaggi).

So, Bradley and Kotelnik are definitely ahead of him for one. The other 3 I would have put ahead of him as well as Ngoudjo, who got robbed against Malignaggi if you watch that fight.

Just my opinion mate.

I agree that Ngoudjo deserved the win. That's not how it works, though. The winner goes up, the loser goes down.

Bradley didn't dominate Witter. It was a competitive fight.

And having Holt, Torres and Urango above Malignaggi just before he fought Hatton? I don't think any reputable boxing sites did that. No, Malignaggi was either 2nd or 3rd with all of them, to my knowledge. Like it or not.

Witter was beaten up in the fight imo. I am a big Witter fan but he took a hiding in that fight and got well beaten. And if Malignaggi didn't get a gift (as you admit he did), nobody would have had him anywhere near the top 2 in the ratings. So it's a bit silly to suggest he was so highly rated in the division, therefore it's a great win for Hatton. I subscribe to realistic thinking and to my mind, even Ngoudjo was more deserving of a fight than malignaggi.

Seriously, Opticad - was that a typo or did you think Ndou should have had the decision in the FIRST fight with Paulie???

Let me get this right, you thought Lovemore Ndou beat Maliginaggi in fight 1?????

Fair enough - your typo makes it sound like Ndou

Ooops, I got mixed up. i gave malignaggi both ndou fights, i don't remember much about the first one but i think it was a pretty easy fight for malignaggi because i remember criticising him for taking a rematch and then being surprised by his struggle in the rematch. ngoujo beat him though and got robbed.

Malignaggi had no choice... rematch clause. First one he completely shut out Ndou - flooring him twice I think, one judge had it 120-106... which is why I thought it was a strange comment.

I agree, thought he won the rematch with Ndou... close but for sure (would have been more convincing if it wasn't for the hair!!!) - Njoudjo won on my card vs him though.

On a side note about Hattons opponents... surely Castillo must have been considered high in the Light Weter ranking. I thought he definately beat Herman.

We could debate that. I thought Castillo looked awful against Ngoujo and agreed with the judge who gave it to Herman.

Those ratings have Witter as #2 and Malignaggi as #3. 3 months later Witter loses to Bradley and Malignaggi beats N'Dou. No doubt they would swap places in May. Hatton fights Malignaggi in November when he's #2. Simples.
Hatton had lined up the Mallignaggi fight before Witter lost to Bradley. Whether Junior beat or lost to Bradley Hatton was always going to be fighting Paulie in his fight after Lazcano

I think its the same for all working class people, if they become wealthy. They tend to get more stick than well off middle class people who have always had money who then become wealthy. Hatton is in a no win situation, whatever he says. Team Hatton is another matter and I am not sure if Ricky has too much say in the decisions made by them. Ricky himself has been good for the sport and the only thing I have against him was his refusal to fight Witter when almost all his fans wanted the fight to happen.

I am seriously stunned at the dislike for Hatton.

Yeah some of his team in my opinion need to take a look at themselves - but as for Ricky Hatton he has seriously done an immense amount for British Boxing.

Boxing fans and yep I know I have been one of them - are perhaps the most critical fans we have in this country - it seems all of us will never be happy.

I also want to thank Ricky.

He truely gave me two great nights of boxing. The first was when he got a complete hiding from Mayweather and KO'd embarrassingly. The second was then he was absolutely bombed into orbit by Pacman and lay in a heap in the ring.

I want to thank Ricky for those moments. I have rewatched them many times and I really cherish them.

Search, lirva, etc. -- I suspected it was. It would be nice to have confirmation from a mod (and then a prompt ban).
