Good stuff, and good to see John Simpson's career well and truely back on track. An honest, decent pro.

Truscott is exactly the same- a skillful fighter, with a great heart, but unfortunatly if he is cut prone (although a bit early to tell yet) without a strong punch then this could perhaps limit his options. I'm sure we will see him in some good fights in the future.

funny you mention that Ian as watching in ahem HD I noticed Hunter in the crowd was really, really rooting for Truscott. He looked almost as intense as before his own fights.

FFN looks good and something to look forward to at long last. It was terrible earier this year, hardly worth watching. Cant wait to see Fury, I hope he is fully fit.

I don't really deem that a fair contest, not saying Paul wouldn't have a go. I echo the comments about Truscott's attitude, I have not been as excited as some are about him but he is certainly a welcome addition to the game and the region and he conducts himself spot on, win or lose.

I fancied that Paul might have enough to nick a decision here, solely cos he might matured a little bit physically, and that Simpson might have slipped a bit. Obviously I was wrong, it sounds like both more or less came in as good as they were last time.

Truscott is in a dilema. With most people with his attributes there would be calls for him to go down in weight. But there is simply no-way he could make Super Bantam. Infact, I think whilst he will still lack the firepower - I think moving up might help the cut situation and help his strength going down the back straight.

He fought with tremendous spirit, but I didn't like the looks of him at the weighin. He looked like a skeleton - as bad as Cotto at 140.

I can understand... although looking at it from Holden's perspective - if he is not sanctionable (and remember no title is on the line) for a series of 3 x 3 minute bouts - then what is he sanctionable for?

There were rumours of amateurs making their pro debut on Prizefighter - and there would not have been a problem with the BBBoC.

In a way i feel guilty for suggesting Holden shouldn't be part of prizefighter. Everyone needs their "last hurrah". But that result was dreadful, and why on earth didn't he fight in the last 6 years!? Against the likes of Williams etc (sure they are getting on, and not world class, but they are way higher quality than holden right now!).

Good luck to him in prizefighter, after all this, it would be strange if he won somehow.

I do think the BBBoC need to be clear about the prizefighter format - in terms of sanctionable/unsanctionable fighters. I thought as it was a series of 3x3 minute rounds - pretty much anyone could be eligable (within the weight) - cause of the length of rounds. Sure Holden fighting Williams for the British title in a 12 rounder would never be sanctionable - but if Williams suffered a traumatic loss and used Holden as a mark time/comeback opponent over 4 rounds... I don't think the board would have a problem - I could be wrong though.

You've had it with the Cruiserweights - with Bruce Scott and Buster Keaton making comebacks after long absences. Yet there was not a hint that they were not sancitonable, or the BBBoC monitoring their progress... I guess the problem is with Danny being a CURRENT British champion. It could be a massive headache for the board if Danny suffers a first round defeat (I mean quater finals... not in the first 3 minutes). With the cruisers, you might not have had a current champion - but you had fighters of similar ability P4P than the likes of Williams/Sprott and Harrison.

I can see the concern, a big part of me doesn't want him in it - cause its going to be practically a walk over for the experienced guys - but ultimately I think he knows how to handle himself in the ring. With the best will in the world, he knows how to lose - so I think will look after himself. I'm possibly more concerned about these young heavies who I've never seen.... but at the same time tempted to pick these unkown quantities over the "proven" (shot/never had it) names.

I'm still stunned at Larry's defeat, hope he has bounced back - if he is gets the chance he should give it ago (nothing to lose now.. the 0 has gone)... and I'd give him a massive chance.

Are you referring to Kevin Evans in the first or second HW one though Stu? Many wouldve tipped him to do very well there.

Yes, I'm sure Coco will deny/confirm if the rumours were true - but I heard he was approached.

He would have done well...... but I think the BBBoC have got to make some decision on it - is it going to be based on the rounds, or the level of opponent?

Which in a strange way why I think Holden should be given a shout... otherwise what can he realistically do with his career. If they don't think he deserves to fight in a series of 3 rounders (albeit potentially with good opponents) - who can he fight.

someone like Chisora over 6 rounds??? probably not.
