In 1925, there had been 9,500 bouts held in the United States.
In eleven months California had had 1,076; NY 2,000; Ohio 1,000+; Pennsylvania 1,800; Wisconsin 600; and 2,000 elsewhere.

The paper said "bouts," Matt. (Or at least that's what my notes say.)tegenm wrote:You mean boxing cards, right?
And I inferred this meant pro bouts. As you know, in Washington state at the time, the figure would be a big fat zero (because prize-fighting was illegal), although hundreds of fights were fought in the state in 1925 as "amateur" bouts between pros.
