Victor Loughlan, Great refereeing.

Post by saad muhammad »

I've been critical in the past with the ref's
in this country stopping fights too early, i
thought Loughlan did a great job, he didn't
paniic and gave Truscott every chance, and
the stoppage was bang on.
And a tremendous fight, credit to both men.

i agree and what a great advert for domestic boxing last nights fight was. A few like to get on the case of Sky for bad match ups but last night's fight and a lot of the fights they have lined up are crackers, long way it continue.
yep....already glad i turned my SS back on

I would have pulled Him after the 7th, no way He was pulling it round.

Good thread, totally agree :TU:

He even managed a rueful smile when Truscott wiped his bloody face all over his shirt!

Watching from the corner it was brutal.... one of the most brutal fights i've ever seen. Truscy is a warrior. They really made a great start to the season.

Vic's a real picky git and he'll be really pissed off that you've spelt his name wrong, it's Loughlin :shame:

Only joking! I know him really well and he'll be amazed that he's got a thread all of his own, but he deserves it. I've never seen him get a stoppage wrong.

He doesn't get in the way of a good fight, doesn't jump in early and always has an eye on the action. Watch him after a knockdown, he takes a real close look at the boxer and talks to them. I've never seen a boxer complain about Victor calling a halt to the action and that speaks volumes.

ps. was that you in Simpson's corner Jeff?

you are probably right. In any event he deserved the chance to try.

Good refing imo.

John Rawling took the piss last weekend, said something about IJL being the referee and how he always wondered who that was in the ring, with the white shirt and the bow tie. Can't remember the exact quote, but it was funny
