Jennings vs Brook.

Post by stujones »

I'm getting hyped for this, although my prediction is that it could prove a dissapointment. Just wondering what peoples views are on it.

Personally, I think we are still going to be asking alot of questions about Brook - which might be unfair as it will be a night we should be congratulating him on cementing his #1 in the UK position.

I am struggling to see what Jennings, at this stage of his career, brings to the table that will trouble Brook. Dynamite punch power? No, Cast iron chin? No. Whilst I think it is WAY to early to be proclaiming Brook as world class, I do think you need to be EXCELLENT at least one aspect of the game to beat him. Either a fantastic chin, fantastic defensive skills, great power - something.

Michael has been a great servant to the game, and has been a joy to watch, but he is really the dictionary definition of the term "tidy boxer" - there is nothing "wow" about him. He hasn't got great power, and can be hurt. I also think, critically, that he was getting frustrated with his WBU bauble and waiting for a shot at a bigger title - and now he has had, and got outclassed - some of his ambition might have gone.

I see parrells to this with Froch vs Reid... and a similar result. Brook KO 5, with naturally comparisons to Cotto, but the fact will be - much still left unanswered. I'm really struggling to make a case for Jennings now (had this been before his world title fight - then yes he might have had a chance).

Any other predictions?

Don't get me wrong, so will I be... and I hope I am wrong in my prediction.

Not that I don't like Kell, just Mike has been good entertainment over the years.

I'm hoping Jennings will have too much savvy for Brook.

Come on Mick!

I like Mick Jennings he seems he great lad going by the interviews I've seen with him and he always gives his all in the ring, but I think Kell Brook is going to the top in this game and I think Mick is going to be another stepping stone on his way to Greatness.

Mick will pose some questions for Brook, but I see him getting stopped around the halfway mark

Witter moving to welter makes the domestic division very very interesting.

nah mikes not the fighter reid was at this stage of his career hes alot fitter and hasn't been in as many brawls so is alot fresher than reid.
i think mike brings the ring savvy and expierience to this fight also his excellent movement getting in and out of range whilst throwing solid shots.
i really think brook will have his hands full with this one while he has yet to be tested he is already being built up to knocked down whick is always the way it seems
jeenings wins this for me
