Scott Dixon - Any News?

Any news on how Scott Dixon has been doing since being attacked? We have been reading the great news that Eamomn Magee has been doing and I hope we will see him in the ring soon.

When I read about Eamomn, I often think about Scott who of course suffered a similar fate only a few weeks later.

We have had some miracles recent with the return of Thaxton and the promise that Magee is not done - what about Dixon?

If he is reading this, I just would like to let him know that he's still in my thoughts.

Scott Dixon Awarded Trainer Licence
Hamilton's Scott Dixon has had his trainer and seconds licence approved and is now working with Coatbridge Super Middleweight Thomas Cannon who will be fighting on the Harrison v Kebede undercard on the 29th of October at the Braehead Arena.

So it looks like he's getting on with rebuilding his life.

Scott would be very pleased to know you are thinking about him!!
He was in london about a month ago and he is back to his old self!!

He still has a metal plate in his arm so cannot box again but apart from that he seems fine!!!

Boxing was his life so you can be sure he will be around in some capacity or other for a long time to come!!!

Good to here he is getting on with things. Shame he won't box again, always a decent fringe contendor (we seem to lack that sort of fighter nowadays).

Guys like Logan, Rock, Wormwald, Townsley and Dixon - perhaps never quite good enough to win the lonsdale belt but always a darkhorse. These type of fighters are missed. We only seemed to have domestic championship WINNING level fighters or poor journeymen/up and commers - very little in the mid range.

Scotts losing fight against Derek Rouche for the British Welterweight Title in 1999 was one of the best British Title fights in recent times, in my opinion.

Wasn't Dixon briefly Commonwealth champ? Or am i thinking of someone else

I know he became big on christian faith but hadn't realised he was attacked.

Yeah he was a commonwealth champion, beating Sean Sullivan and defended the once vs Charlie Kane. He also won a minor international title when he beat Moore.

I hope you still get what I mean though with the list of fringe domestic contendors that I mentioned. Whilst Dixon won a meaningful title, it wasn't the British belt and it wasn't against the greatest of opposition. However, he was always a tryer and also very competitive - the same as the other fighters I mentioned.
