Tyson Fury primed for Big Bad John
Re: Tyson Fury primed for Big Bad John
looking closely at the Brit HW ratings, David Haye aside, RETIRE most the rest and our coming hopes fall on Fury and Price... Land of the Giants and I'll take Price, get and keep him busy and we might have a good Super-Heavyweight, seen as that is what the HW division really is nowadays!
thoughts Price over Fury, or is there anyone else?
Remember RETIRE most of them!

there was only ONE 'Big Bad' in boxing and that was James Oyebola, how can some one else steel his name.

Re: Tyson Fury primed for Big Bad John
First of all I hope Fury is fully fit because I think he needs to be. McDermott has the experiance that Fury lacks and this is Furys first real test. Up until now Fury has fought some decent opponents but nobody as good as McDermott who is big and will be there to win. McDermott is not just an opponent for Fury as the others have been. This is a real fight, not a one sided affair. Personally I think this fight has come a bit early for Fury. I know he is ambitious but he has so much time on his side, there is no need to rush him. Another 3 or 4 fights would have made more sense, I feel. Anyway the fight is on and we will see if Tyson Fury really is to be the next best HW of British boxing. If he can deal with McDermott and score yet another stoppage win, I think we can then get excited about his future in HW boxing. Its a very interesting bout, and we should learn a lot more about the potential of Fury and what he is capable of. I cant see it going the distance, win or lose Fury will definately force the finish so it shouldnt be a dull fight. I am going to stick my neck out and say I think Furys body punches will be too much for McDermott but as we all know huge HWs can end a fight suddenly with one accurate punch. McDermott is not a fighter to get over confident with and hes better than his big flabby body suggests. Lets hope Fury lives up to his middle name, Tyson, and that this is the first of many titles in his future career.

Its a match I am looking forward to seeing.

Fury is not great as everyone thinks he going to be. I think Pryce will be the better bet in long run!

I think Fury has had some pretty decent opponents so early in his career, but is he ready for the likes of John McDermott, we are soon going to find out. Stamina and not being fully fit have been issues for him so as you say if the fight doesnt end early McDermott could take contol later on.Londonirish wrote:leforge wrote:I think Mcdermott might win. Has Fury got a big punch?
Although he has'nt been passed 4 rounds and has had 7 wins coming within the distance. I dont think he's a big puncher, his opponents aint been the best. He stunned them with one shot and then jumped on them with 6-7 punches.
Saying i would'nt like to be hit by him![]()
John's really up for this one, been sparring and training Great. I see Fury coming out Fast for the 4-5 rounds then blowing out and getting stopped in 8-9.. Think its come to quick for Fury..

massive test for fury, but I think he gets to McDermott early and stops him.
If he doesn't though, then he'd better have trained hard as hell, because McDermott has already put two twelve rounders under his belt in recent times.

Re: Tyson Fury primed for Big Bad John
If Fury hasn't got him out of there by the end of the 4th, I expect it to get very difficult for Fury and very quickly.
I don't think Fury is a ferocious hitter, but he punches very well to the body, and can put a few punches together in succession - It's been enough so far.
McDermott is no mug though, and this is a huge test for Fury. If Fury walks through McDermott, not only will I be surprised, but i'll be very impressed.
The big question for me is has Fury got the engine to go past 5 or 6 rounds, it's been apparent that he has been blowing hard in fights he has had all his own way. I just wonder how this works out when he is getting hit back. Timbeeeerrrrr!!
We'll see.

Re: Tyson Fury primed for Big Bad John
this is the same john mcdermott who got a very decent hiding in one round at the hands of skeltons and struggled and lost twice to old shot williams. fury loses this and he might as well get a job in a factory because he's not going anywhere.
Re: Tyson Fury primed for Big Bad John
Maloney claiming some pikey mush has bet £50,000 on Fury to win. I personally like Fury inside six rounds.

Fury will finish him very early. Body shots will do it.

I'd say Maloney looks a bit camp in that picture, the scarf and white belt goes well with that pose. Was those rumours found to be true regarding Maloney and Lennox?......Watch out John, standing there in your small pants with Maloney behind you! He's just about the right height!boxrec wrote:

I'd get off them scales before the radiation turns him orange and affects his hair.
Re: Tyson Fury primed for Big Bad John
I watched 6 of Tyson Fury's 7 bouts this evening (I had never seen him fight) and to put it mildly, I was not impressed. If McDermott doesn't put an end to the hype, someone else surely will. Fury's nothing special.
Re: Tyson Fury primed for Big Bad John
I agree. I think he'll beat McDermott however I see him being knocked out when he turns and flinches away from a punch against a decent fighterSeamus wrote:I watched 6 of Tyson Fury's 7 bouts this evening (I had never seen him fight) and to put it mildly, I was not impressed. Re: Tyson Fury primed for Big Bad John
Lets be honest guys what can Fury show us against a bunch of no hopers this is his first test if ( & it's a Big IF ) he takes care of Mcdermott it won't suddenly make him world class it will just be a step along a very long road. I prefer to wait judgement until he has 15/20 bouts under his belt

Both are embarrasingly out of shape. The big question is will the ring be able to hold them up for 12 rounds?
