I know that I can get a list of title fights if I choose "title" from the main menu, ie, a list of all bouts for the WBC heayweight championship. Is it possible to do a query that returns a list of pre-1965 title fights? It doesn't seem possible from this menu, because there is no selection for "NBA" or other sanctioning bodies pre-alphabet soup.
Maybe I'm missing something obvious?

Yes, but looking at the Heavyweights for example, selecting NBA or NYSAC yields a total of just 14 title fights before 1965. If you look at the individual pages for each boxer, the database shows 109 heavyweight title fights if you go chronologically from Corbett/Sullivan to Liston/Clay.
Consider Joe Louis. His first title fight 6-22-37 is listed as being for the NYSAC and NBA World title. His next 26 bouts are listed just as "World Heavyweight Title." Didn't the NBA (or someone else) sanction any of those bouts?
I guess what I'm getting at is that there appear to be bouts in the database tagged as title fights that don't show up on any listing of title fights.
