Can you fight for both the EBF and BBBoC?

I was just wondering if a boxer could be licenced by both governing bodies or would the BBBoC ask the fighter to not fight for the EBF?

Any boxer licenced by the BBBofC found to be boxing on any shows not falling under their jurisdiction (including EBF) will have their BBBofC licence withdrawn. This has happened, fairly recently. Even fighters boxing exhibition bouts on unlicenced shows will have their licences withdrawn.

Not just boxers, Any BBBofC license holder, be it trainer, second, manager, etc working for any other organisation not recognised by them will be at risk of having their Board license taken away.

I think it's a 12-month suspension.

It's irrelevant for the most part, since the only reason most guys go EBF is because they can't get a BBBC licence, or are only fighting casually. However I do wonder why Michael Gomez did it - although past his best, he wants to continue fighting and has not been ruled out by the BBBC. He could surely still get a lot of legit - and better paid - work, even if his championship days are over, but he's now fought for the EBF and hardly made a secret of it, thus burning his bridges for at least a year in licensed boxing - a year he can ill-afford to miss.

there are alot of guys who make more money on the EBF scene than they do with BBBoC but gomez is an exception hes a household name

I know unlicensed promoters in London offer half of ticket money to fighters, so thats 20 quid a go, Gomez could sell 500 tickets, there is 10k for him fighting an ageing transexual! All cash too, thats close to British title money

i went to an unlicensed show in london a couple of months back and a lad was earning £2500 for a 3x2 fight through ticket sales more than someone would normally get for 10x3 area title

Yeah thats the going rate and it's all 3x2's, my mate fought on Ricky English's last show, and Joe Pyle offered me the same deal
