What happened to Kevin Mitchell vs Ricky Burns?

Mitchell hasn't defended his title since he won it over 18 months ago. Do no other British fighters in the division want to fight for the British championship?

What is going on?

Ricky Burns vs Nicky Cook makes sense to me.

The board are being completely pathetic on this issue. They are disgracing themselves in my opinion.

Ulikely, FW hasn't got enough Welsh fighters to fill an undercard, Macca is likely to retire and then there is only his nephew left, who isn't championship material and was only taken on to stick two fingers up at rhe Calzaghe's

"Build it and they will come"

Does he really need Welsh boxers on the undercard though :-?

If its a decent enough show he'll get the numbers IMO

I'm not saying he'll fill somewhere like the CIA, but there are plenty of smaller halls (around 1000/1500 capacity) around South Wales he could use.

Cleverly should be fighting in Wales, perhaps early in 2009 for EBU belt!

No I meant before when he fought Skelton. Sosnowski got it cause he beat Williams... Rogan wasn't allowed to fight (in a voluntary) even though he beat Harrison (who had beaten Williams).

Oh, right. What was the reason for Rogan not being able to challenge for the title against Skelton?

As for Sosnowski, I think his draw with Pianeta helped to get him this shot, as well as his win over Williams.

Why do they bother ranking up to 20 fighters in their rankings, if up to 5 of them are not eligible to fight for the title?
