i like him in my opinion. he does whats needed to be done to get his fighter the biggest fights and the most money. its a pitty setanta folded or he could of become a big time manager. hes good at training haye i cant think of anyone else he trains so i cant comment on that bit.

he seems cocky but he has every right to be with what he's achieved with haye

good luck to him

Jury is still very much out. Lets not forget the work Maloney did in steering Haye to a world title shot.

Haye's pushing 30, great looking, exciting style, charistmatic - should be a global star now... has been way to inactive.

Haye is inactive, hasn't been paid well(other than the Macca fight), has no TV, the whole camp is inactive, Haye is one of the most marketable fighters we have ever had as well as his obvious successes and he is unknown outside the boxing fraternity.
I would say Booth is a complete failure.

:o I sense this thread is going to lead on to Enzo!, you got a picture of Booth with Haye....My guess is your going to comment the influence Booth has on Haye in the corner....Then you'll come up with one of his fights as an example.....That fight will be the Enzo fight......Then you'll ask the question of how we think Enzo would have faired againts the other top cruiserweights if he went a different direction.......Then we might get a nice little picture of Enzo and Haye fight.......Some how, just some how you will bring Enzo into it as you just can not help yourself  OCD, stalker alert...Call it what you like....Or I know, my guess is your trying to draw someone else in to mentioning the Enzo fight so that you can go full guns blazing about him!

Enzo Maccarenelli has no signifcance on this thread because Enzo has no significance on David Hayes career.

The only signifcance that Enzo brought to Hayes career was a nice big fat payday for a easy nights work.

Haye slaughtered Enzo - it was easy - Enzo didnt belong in the same ring as him - he was thrown in too deep.

How much do you reckon Haye has made over his career? I remember discussing this with Wales and Emerson before the Barrett fight and I don't reckon he's made that much at all so he needs big fights or a TV deal for his outfit to start making serious dosh. In my mind he's had 2 big money fights, Enzo and Jean Mac any more?

With no venue set yet for Valuev I would say that Booth is a great trainer but very poor commerically by not keeping Haye active, getting the fights that count or by spinning Haye off with endoresements or modelling, stuff like that.

monte barrett must of pulled in some dosh being on setanta deal and promoting the show also barrett said haye put him with the cheepest hotel and taxi's etc

he may not have had massive paydays but he'll have had lots of good pay days seeing as most of his fight have been on TV

His relationship with a Rotherham-based midget is concerning.

Only Enzo, doubt he cleared more than 50k for the Mormack fight. As with Klits, he took chump change in his opponents back yard to get the shot. And that fight didn't generate much money, was barely any tv coverage for it.

Whatever he does it is what he thinks is in David's or his fighter's interest. Shame is some of them will jump ship because they are so inactive.

he obviously works well with haye. haye is obviously a great specimen, great puncher, good athletic talent and you'd have to say that from the rossito fight through to the macca fight, everything seemed to have clicked for haye. in terms of fighting, in terms of handling the learning curve, in terms of skill, punching, overcoming crises. booth has obviously done something right, and he came across well on camera.

he and haye set a great example after the macca KO, saying about fulfilling potential, believing in yourself, and so on. they put on some quality shows also - let's not forget that amazing dodson vquigley fight - but you'd think from a managerial/promoting standpoint, they badly miscalculated with both setanta and with the K2 diplomats, especially with a global financial crisis (then) looming.

even if haye beats valuev, wins a heavyweight title, becomes a 2 weight champ and comes home with a belt that will allow him to become a major force at promoting over here - you still have to wonder at the responsibility to his Hayemaker fighters and what they have/haven't been able to do in the past few months. i think it is this element that haye and booth are being judged on at the moment.

Had dealings with Hayes PR team prior to the Thompson fight, was writing for BBN and wanted to get a an interview with David, I guess I can now say this but the guy I was emailing sent me a reply not meant for me, basically saying Booth was blocking any interview and being a bit precious about it all and up his own arse. David was happy to do the i/view.

Not a great indictment coming from inside your own team.

Course Carl beats haye and then the interview is then offered ....told em to poke it.

Im sure Adam had his own reasons for this maybe bad experience with other internet sites previously I dunno and this was along time ago so people and things change,b ut some noises fomr other people trying to negotiate dont sound that great.

Not that any of this matters its down to David to decide if he is a good trainer or not and its obvious there is an implicit friendship and trust there, so thats all that matters .

As a manager/promoter
Saying that Haye's lack of stamina in his early fights did not reflect on him well as a trainer. But then who is the monkey and who is the organ grinder!

Basically he gets Haye fit and that's about it. He would be a nobody without David.
Ye Haye got him noticed but I think he was a decent trainer anyway. I think he is a better promoter though takes hard tough fights or as he puts it calculated risks

Didn't Adam Booth have a major involvement with Francis Barrett at one stage? I think thats where I noticed him first - in that documentary.
