Klitschko-Williams in Vegas!
Madison Square Garden had been called 99% certain to host the December 11 WBC heavyweight title bout between champion Vitali Klitschko and Tyson-conqueror Danny Williams, however the card will now apparently land in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Casino/Resort. K2 executive Tom Loeffler told the Las Vegas Review Journal that "attorneys are going over the contracts, but in essence we've reached a deal." The Garden fell out of the running because of logistical problems involving other events.

Mandalay Bay will also likely host the December 4 card between headlined by WBC lightweight champion Jose Luis Castillo vs Joel Casamayor.

It's a lot better than the NY horror show one month earlier though:chris s wrote:Are you having a laugh. It isn't even being shown on Yank telly until a week after. Good luck to Danny but this is the worse hevayweight title fight to ever land in sin city.jamesmcdonnell wrote:I hope it's Vegas, it deserves to be a vegas fight.
John Ruiz vs. Andrew Golota
Chris Byrd vs. Jameel McCline
Evander Holyfield vs. Larry Donald
Hasim Rahman vs. Kali Meehan
And it's being shown on tv one week later because it's live on HBO PPV.

That is simply unbelievable. this underlines the fact that americans really don't give a shit about any sporting event that doesn't include americans. roger federer won the US open this year with a masterclass of tennis and all the american papers did was whinge that the tournament had the lowest tv ratings ever, as if having no american in the final devalued the tournament and made it irrelevent.chris s wrote:Are you having a laugh. NO MATTER THE QUALITY, THIS IS A F**KING WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE FIGHT AND THEY AREN'T SHOWING IT LIVE EVEN IN AMERICA??!!! this marks the end, people, the beginning of the end for boxing.
