What should be next for John McDermott?

Post by el_grande_mauro_mina »

He must be sick as a pig now - to win another fight but get jobbed out of the descion.

I hope he doesn't quit - he has got another 5-6 years left to go an do the business.

I ahve always liked McDermott, he is tough, has a good engine, decent handspeed and represents us fatties very well!

Wasn't he the ABA champion with the least amount of senior fights? So he was never a mug.

I think a few fights in the states would do him the world of good. Get a few wins and get his confidence back to what it was.

One thing FTM should not do is give Tyson Fury another chance - not that Tyson Fury would beat McDermott in the next 3-4 years anyway - let Fury keep his stinking, undeserved win.

Why did O'Connor spaz out there with his scoring tonight - this might have something to do with it..

6th December 1977 - Stan McDermott W Rsf 5 Terry O'Connor

Terry - you should have your licence revoked - and holding onto old grudges 30 years later isn't nice!

Simple...........

Re-match with Tyson Fury, within two or three months and Richie Davies as the referee !!!

Everyone, i give you the new English heavyweight champion - John McDermott (in three months time)

Because he will DEFINATELY beat Fury

McDermmott still should be considered for a title fight of some kind. Maybe the Sexton vs Rogan winner.... how about Sosnowski if he is successful in his EBU fight.

Is there any chance that he could replace Michael Sprott in the Prizefighter tournament?

Hopefully he will get a rematch, but if I was Fury I would go back down a level and do his trade while he matures.
I can't see Hennessy risking him again, he has invested too much
