Aaron Pryor Vs Roberto Duran

Post by Adamj1987 »

if this took place before the first leonard fight how would this fight of turned out both have hard heads and could go all out from the first bell

and would it of made a difference if it was at lightweight or light welter seeing as duran never fought at light welter

id personally go with duran possibly on a split decision

Duran is much too much for Pryor.

As Aaron comes forward Duran will slip his leads and make him pay. There probably wasn't a better defence on an aggressive fighter. Duran stopped bigger and more durable men than Pryor and after early fireworks I see Duran overwhelming him and stopping him.

It would be a war, but I think Duran's skills would be the difference. Pryor would win several rounds with his all out aggression, but in the end I think Duran wins a very close UD.

yea i think the closest duran had was the barkley fight so could of ended up a similar way but duran with more manouverability due to his younger self and less weight

I agree with Ezzard, except I'm not convinced Duran will stop Pryor. But Duran will win.

If Duran went toe to toe with Hagler and came out not too badly damaged, and considering that Arguello was able to at least stun Pryor and Alexis was past his prime while I presume we're talking prime Duran... clearly Duran by at least a comfortable decision. Duran was better at practically everything.

Maybe the best modern fight that never happened. I think the best fight that never happened was Benny Leonard v. Mickey Walker in September 1924 for Walker's welterweight title.

I never thought of that one. What a magnificent fight that would have been (Leonard vs Walker). :TU: :TU: :TU:

The great Aaron Pryor was something to see, but I don't think he was in the league of the greats Roberto Duran, Sugar Ray Leonard or Thomas Hearns. These 3 would have beat Pryor by KO. I don't see it other way. But these 3 guys would have had a great match in their hands while it last.

Pryor vs Duran would be a sure-fire Fight of the Year, too bad this one never happened, I'd probably favor Duran by tough UD possibly Split Decision or late KO.

Great fight mate, I would like Duran by late KO. He was body work was amazing as well as his sublime defensive mechanism. Just a little too good and a little too powerful, still a great fight :TU:

I liked Aaron Pryor as a fighter, but Roberto Duran had far more talent and skill. As a result, I think Duran would have taken Pryor apart.

With Panama Lewis and the black bottle Pryor could last about 10 to 11 rounds before being KO.

Without the black bottle Duran by KO in 5.

Too much skill from Duran, I could see Pryor missing all night long with Duran counter-punching ending the fight in a KO.

Hmm was that a black bottle or a very dark blue bottle? It makes a difference ya know. One was just tap water mixed with some Perrier water. The other was the elixir of energy and life.
