Round 2 - Kessler looking for the KO, not a gr8 guard from Perdoma but a round with no real action hitting home.

20-18 Kessler

FIGHT OVER - Kessler launches under frenzied attack that had Perdomo's legs wabbling - Ref stepped into to save Perdomo's head.

Kessler way to good.

Just watched it on sopcast, the long lay off certainly hasn't affected him.

Any ring rust or question marks over Kessler, or was it as easy for him as it sounds? Did Perdomo offer anything in there to try and make a fight of it? Haven't seen it yet, but it sounds like Kesslers inactivity isn't going to be a problem leading into the '6'.

Thanks SG. It was a lovely shot that led to the finish. Kessler will take a lot of confidence from that. Brilliant stuff.

What did you make of the kd in the third round, did that right land or did he slip? didn't have a clue what the commentators were saying, they were discussing it though.
Perdomo was off-balance and Kessler cuffed his shoulder with a shot. I don't know whether or not Perdomo would have fallen over anyway, but it has to be called a knock down because a shot landed.

Good peformance from Kessler, especially considering the inactivity. Perdomo is probably not the best yardstick out there to see how much Kessler's inactivity has hurt him. He did at least bring some ambition with him though and tried to make a fight of it, he just got punished everytime he let his hands go. The KD in the third was soft and Perdomo was up quickly, but he did look a bit rubber legged straight after the KD. Quality 1-2 to set up the finish, maybe the ref could've let it continue a few more punches, but Perdomo was done at that stage anyway. Kessler is still the man to beat at 168, in my eyes....

My two favourites for the super 6 are Kessler and Abraham.

I think Kessler is underrated.

Kessler is an outstanding boxer. I felt he was outboxing Calzaghe over the first half, but then didn't know what to do when a weird style was imposed on him. I feel his skill is unquestionable, and the main question is how he will fare against unorthodox fighters and ones who are extremely fast. If his opponent brings something different, will Kessler be stuck again?

This sounds like yet another very sharp performance. Perdomo was a credible, decent time filling fight. Kessler has been smashing up these WBA mandatories, and it's good that he did it vs a southpaw.

I was gutted when Kessler lost to Calzaghe. Now I am glad, because if Kessler had won, he'd have been too big for the "super six." Let's pray Mogens Palle can't block Kessler's involvement in this tourney. It wouldn't be the same if Alan Green replaced him.

You can`t help trying to compare how he`d fair against our Froch..

That snappy jab and straight right hand of Kesslers would be finding Froch every time ...
Froch`s unorthodox lunges/punches will no doubt find their target also cos Kesslers defence isn`t water tight .. but Kesslers chin seems solid and Froch on the world scene doesn`t have the dynamite he seemed to show at domestic level..

At this moment I`d lean towards Kessler UD.

I think Kessler KO's Froch's ass inside 7, that bullet jab & explosive right will destroy Froch.

Kessler really has a chance to make his name in this. I think the winner of this tourney could be right up there in the p4p rankings. His first fight in the tourney is vs a Yank Olympic gold medallist. If Kessler delivers he will be very well regarded.
