I saw the Sot Chitalada loss fight TKO 5 back in 1985.
Magri was a game fighter.
How do you remember Charlie Magri ?
Charlie Magri 30-5
Re: Charlie Magri 30-5
Solid, little gutsy guy and carried a litlle bit of a dig. Did not have the most sturdiest of whiskers but was still a decent little fighter, in my eyes

Re: Charlie Magri 30-5
A rare big-punching flyweight with excellent skills, he seemed to lose steam at times when he went up against guys he couldn't dominate (the Frank Cedeno loss was an example). Always thought his best win was his narrow decision at home against three-time, two-division champion Santos Laciar in 1980 before both won titles. Laciar was one of the best flyweights of the 1980s IMO, so a win over him meant something

Well summed up. Game as they come, body of a flyweight, heart of a Lion. Truly loved the game and a really nice man.bengulnaci1 wrote:Solid, little gutsy guy and carried a litlle bit of a dig. Did not have the most sturdiest of whiskers but was still a decent little fighter, in my eyesDD
Read his auto-biography. One of the best boxing books i have seen. You can feel his enthusiasm.
