i nearly made round 7 a draw but i though even though mcdermott is lannding better punches. 16 good punches to 40 decent punches inst enought to award the round the ones i gave fury where when mcdermott worked less not fury upping his work rate but i can see where you scored a draw i think it what you like volume or quality of punches

I was very surprised to see mcdermott landed more over the fight in the final statistics. I think a draw is a fair result, I could see 96-94 to mcdermott though.
yea it is 96-94 is fair the only difference would be the drawn round i had making it 97 for john

I also had this Fight a DRAW and thats after watching this Fight 3 times now!

Mcdermott threw the bigger punches that caught the eye more and over 10 Rds the impression would be that he won the fight overall.

I had FURY winning rds 3, 5, 6, 9 and 10 and Mcdermott winning 1, 2, 4, 7 and 8 but......i could have given rd 10 as a 10-8 rd for Fury as Mcdermott should have recieved a standing 8 count.

Watch this from 4 mins 10 secs in, Mcdermott is clearly hurt and staggers to the corner with his back to the action...either he should hav been given a standing 8 count or Fury should have been allowed to follow up on his attack....turning your back is not a form of defence in boxing as you have to protect yourself at all times!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R11xwjLI ... re=related

O'Connor's scorecard was terrible and some of his officiating was poor too in Mcdermotts favour! If this fight had been called a DRAW or 6-4 to TYSON than there would be no controversy, just a difference of opinion.

FURY will improve, this fight was great for him and highlighted all the faults he has at this early stage of his career but i'm also sure he can work most of them out and improve greatly over the next 2 years!

I'm still a believer for now.

I had it a draw as I thought Fury won 1,2,7,9 and 10

Round 6 was the tightest round I think from memory.

I also agree that Fury will improve and is exactly what he needed, I think, apart from Haye and Rogan, McDermott is Fury's toughest opponment Fury will face that is Brittish, mainly because of their fighting styles and because Haye is far classier.

I think the commentator's clouded a very close fight that could have swung either way.

Certainly no robbery.

I had to McDermott by 3 rounds when listening to the commentary.

Scored 1 round even - however going to listen to it now without the commentary see what I think then.

what is all this 'turn it down' bollocks? Terry O'Connor and the Sky crew can score it (to an extent) without earplugs, I'm sure all of us can.

knackered or hurt, he was still in a vunerable position due to Fury's punches and for the first time in the fight Fury had created space and i'm pretty sure a follow up attack would have put Mcdermott down...why the hell O'Connor stepped in was just ridiculous!

This fight was only a robbery on the scorecard but the result could have gone either way as alot of close RD's that you could give either way based on Fury's activity with Jabs and body punches or Mcdermotts bigger punchng but lower workrate so we need a Re-match soon!

Under what rule should he have given a standing count? You do not get standing counts in professional boxing

Some governing bodies state that if the ropes keep you up ( for example) you get a standing 8 count!

97-94 McDermott. Couldn't see a way how Fury won it but just my opinion. The activity people talk of from Fury was mostly arm punches and flurries which didn't actually land from what I was watching.

- My Stars this forum is daft. I hear the hue and the cry, but next to none score fights, so most have mistaken breaking wind for outrage.

SOMETHING landed since Fury knocked McD's mouthpiece out TWICE in the fight, and had him turning his back TWICE and running to the ropes to be saved by the ref in the last round after Fury was on the verge of knocking him out.

The winner was full of psss and vinegar at the end of the fight and ready to do it again next month. The loser was whining, something apparently that this forum is familiar with.

Tyson suffers from the Mike Tyson syndrome. Beating the 7 bells out of his opposition and winning lopsided decisions but leaving them standing means he lost because he failed to meet expectations, the spectacular KO. Had this been a 12 rd fight, McD was ready to be pushed over by a feather, but alas, it was an English fight!

The only rounds I gave McD are the 4th when Fury is adjusting to the fight moving into the trenches and 6th when the heavy pace was forced to a crawl as form disappeared and sloppiness took over, the kind of fight favoring McD. Otherwise Fury landed more jabs than McD threw single punches and outworked and outhustled McD who was game for most of the bout. Had McD managed to keep his mouthpiece in place and not turn his back when hurt, he might have nicked the decision.

Who's ducking the rematch next month? It sure ain't Fury who'd do well to leave this dreary isle if he is to be slated for challenging himself and walking the walk beyond the limited understanding of the average British fan.
