The news I have been told is very real and true.

But people like Eric Guy have stated - lets not speculate - wait until the official news.

Its a very sad day.

Please lock this thread.

Thank you

Thank you Eric. Would appreciate that everyone listens to this. Lets not speculate and delve into yet, untill at least news is confirmed.

I think it can sadly be established that it is not a hoax (I will delete earlier comments claiming it was when the news is confirmed on a respectable website). Lets just offer our thoughts to the family of the Olympic Bronze Medalist.

First sentence edited by mod. Please try and keep away from speculation untill more news is confirmed.

But it's 100% true now at this stage. Poor guy. RIP Darren.

But if someone drops a thread about it on a boxing forum - about the untimely death of someone - its only natural to ask how it happened ?

If its too early to ask that - then its too early for this thread to be on the boards.

Rest In Peace

From all at Eastside Boxing Club and all at Team Alio, you will be sadly missed, you could have been a force to be reckoned with.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends at this sad sad time.

Donations will be sent once details are publicly announced.

"God looked around his garden
and found an empty space
he then looked down
upon the earth,
and saw your tired face.
he put his arms around you
and lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful
he always takes the best.
he knew that you were suffering
he knew you were in pain
he knew that you would never
get well on earth again.
he saw the road was getting rough,
and the hills were hard to climb.
so he closed your weary eyelids,
and whispered "peace be thine"
it broke our hearts to loose you
But you did NOT go alone,
for part of US went with you
the day god called you home. "

27 years old and an amazing future ahead of him, his family will mourn and miss their boy, boxing will mourn a future star.
