ZDF - sorted

Post by forcefraser »

Just got a geezer to install an additional dish so that I can get the free German, Italian and Spanish channels. Mostly utter rubbish, but you get ZDF which is quality for boxing.

The super six will be on it for sure. Result.

Kesler and Abraham are Sauerland fighters, their TV deal is with ARD, not ZDF - they show Universum shows. So the super 6 will be on ARD, though you'll probably be able to get that channel too as its free to air in Germany.

Its ARD that will show super six shows tournament (+ Sauerland) ZDF shows universum. RTL shows Klitschko, German Eurosport, DSF shows Arena, DSF also shows SES. MDR shows Sauerland undercards sunday mornings.

How much did it cost you all together, forcefraser if you don't mind me asking. Dish and installation.

I live in Norway, so everything is more expensive. I had the dish already, so I bought a free to air box on e-bay for £40. The guy took about £100 to set everything up.

You can pick up an old 60" dish and digital LNB for next to nothing, maybe 60-70 quid new in the shops I guess, then a free to air digital satellite receiver for 50 quid tops.
I moved house about a year ago, and only just got around to getting mine out of the garage this morning ( after reading this thread ).
Just so I can get the IBF middleweight fight from Germany tonight, I propped the dish on a chair in my living room, pointed it out the window south, moved it around a bit and bingo, Hotbird tunes in.
Bob's yer uncle and Sallys yer fecking aunt :TU:

On Hotbird you can pick up ZDF on channel 373 and ARD on 770. So hopefully I'm sorted for the supermiddle tourney, and looks like they're going to show Valuev/Haye too - always a pleasure to tell Sky to get stuffed.

Astra 19e is the best for FTA Boxing, on 13e (hotbird) you dont get the RTL Channels so its wise to go the astra 19e route.

I just replaced my digibox yesterday, after being without satellite for a good few months and now can pick up over 2000 channels of utter rubbish! But more importantly I now have all the German stuff, and as much hardcore gay porn as I can handle!

Good effort. I too have been going through the channels, majority of which are shitehouse.

However, I got RTL, DSF, ARD, ZDF and WRD. All of which will have some decent boxing on. I`m sick of relying on Sky and ITV4 for my boxing.

Plus I found some filthy porn channels thown in for good measure. Bonus.

Anyone know what time Big Klit and Arreola are actually touching gloves british time?

I can barely understand this post, never mind put up a fecking five foot wide satellite dish.

I'd end up doing a Rod Hull, for sure.

That would be a terrible way to go Ian, and all for an IBO intercontinental interim fight.

www.liveonsat.com is a good site for satelite sports

would love to be able to get one of these things that gets foreign channels but cheaper and easier to just hope someone streams them.

No RTL is on Hotbird too, just checked and they're showing Vitali tonight 4am. So looks like the main 3 boxing channels are on hotbird 13e - ARD / ZDF / RTL
Doesn't get DSF, but they don't show much top line stuff as far as I know.

My parents used to have a satellite that picked up ZDF, RTL and ARD, only problem was that it would become encrypted during the good stuff, like boxing, I'm assuming that's not the case anymore?
