Not surprised he's retired. He's a brave lad and took some hard punishment in there. Those Harris right hands are brutal.
Vivian made a great start w/ sharp jabs and right hands, but Urkal came back in the middle rounds with some good flurries to pull things level.
Harris seemed a bit tired; the Urkal body shots slowed him down.
But he got his 2nd wind, came on strong, and finished of an exhuasted opponent with a hard right hand.
Good referee tonight.

Seems odd that after a career of protection and occasional dodgy decisions suddenly the home German fighter loses and it is actually perceived by many that he had won the fight. I mean look at Urkal-Harris I and Michalezcewski-Gonzalez, in by no means the most controversial of there many fights both are on the wrong end of the scorecards in fights they seemed to have won....just seems weird

Yes I've noticed that too. His body is all rib cage, and he didn't seem to appreciate Urkal hitting him there. Hatton would have a good chance with the body shots, that's his game. Of course Harris might clock him with a big right hand on the way in. Steward turned down 750K for that fight, and goes for a 400K job instead. Maybe he thinks it's a wrong fight for his man? Who knows...

Of course he would have. Hatton has never faced someone like Harris. Everybody knows why he cowardly removed himself from the mandatory position for harris title. Lots of guys here blame Harris for it and say that he bottled out of the fight. Well what do they say now after he went over to GERMANY and took an even HARDER fight and KO'd Urkal? Hatton is a joke.
lirva might be a bit crazy but has a point, talk of Hatton-Tszyu (mostly built up by you know who) is just a pipe dream and will never happen in a million years, Tszyu isn't interested in pretenders at this stage of his career he wants paydays. If Hatton-Tszyu comes off i'll post naked on.....oh wait, sorry i already did that one 8)

Harris still only 5th in the Boxrec rankings with Cotto with only about 22 fights above him and of course Hatton 2nd with his ridiculus 37-0. Can anyone believe Hatton is 37-0 without fighting a top ten opponent? Its crazy. Would any boxer with any ambition stand for this? Who was it Samson Dutchboy Gym, kind of a joke champion but Ricky is doing exactly the same.

I say a great big congo. Tszyu basically said as much in an interview. There would have to be some really serious money to interest him in fighting Hatton at this stage.
Never say never though. I do wonder just how many big earners Tszyu has had, he's not a huge draw despite being highly regarded.

You really think Harris wanted to go to Germany? No, he went because he had to. He's not a draw, so he has to travel - simple economics.
If Harris was a big draw in his homeland, he'd never leave town either.

Did you not see Harris threaten to pull out the week of the Urkal fight? Apparently he was only getting $315k for the fight and of that a massive 60% was going to go to paying off Shelley Finkel. If Harris takes home any more than $40k net from the Urkal fight I'd be very surprised. The difference between the offer to fight Hatton and what he got to fight Urkal, that would have been where Harris made real money.
