Danny Green in wrong Division

Post by olly23 »

Danny Green should be listed in the Super Middleweight division, not the light Heavyweght he is currently listed in. He recently defeated Omar Gonzalez. He will be fighting Marcus Beyer for the WBC Super Middleweight title next. :TU:

He weighed 173 3/4 in his last fight, which puts him in the Light Heavyweight division. Division assignment is automated based on a weight tolerance.

Division assignment is automated based on a weight tolerance.

Doesn't seem to apply to all boxers e.g. Anthony Mundine. His last fight was at light heavy??

If you weighed over 171 1/2 in your last fight the computer ranks you at Light Heavy. Mundine was 170 1/2.

That's kind of silly. Is this why Bernard Hopkins is rated as a Jr. Middleweight even though his last fight was in the Middleweight division? I think this element should be changed, at least in fights with titles involved.

Re: Hopkins, yes. I agree in regards to title fights. An automated system is much better than ad hoc in cases such as Mundine and Green.
