What do you mean by "good wins beyond Enzo"?

I have never really been impressed by Olusegan. He is scheduled to fight Lenny Daws this month, and Ionut Dan Ion next month in a WBC final eliminator. If he beats either of those then he might enter the top 15.

Do you not think it would be more fitting to call this the British and Irish P4P LIST seems as you have a number of Irish boxers there anyway. Just a thought!

dbflex wrote:So does beating 1 of ur top 30 mean more than beating say 3 decent opponents hovering just outside? i.e. Brook beat McIntyre but Clev has beaten Quigley, Oakey and McIntosh. Not being anal, just want 2 know. this is prob y we dont do a brit p4p list.
Brook's best wins are over: Jones, McIntyre, Elwell and Lomax. If Brook had just beaten McIntyre without those other wins then Cleverly would be ahead of him now.

McIntyre came into his fight with Brook after wins over Doherty and Anderson x2. Quigley was 7-0 against journeymen and Oakey had just lost by KO to Francis, as well as coming in at late notice, when they fought Cleverly. McIntosh came into his fight with Cleverly after wins over Vegas, Spartacus, Anderton and Barney which are good wins, but not on the level that McIntyre had been winning on before his fight with Brook.

It is close but, I would say that a win over a top 30 fighter like McIntyre is slightly better than beating three lower level fighters like Quigley, Oakey and McIntosh.

Get Hatton off the list? Are you mad?

I can't imagine him having slipped so far down in ability after the pacquiao loss that he would not be worthy of a place in the top 30.

How many places should he have fallen after his loss? Should he be below Witter? Cook? Macklin? Maccarinelli? Duddy?

I can respect people having Froch and Haye above Hatton in their rankings, but putting anyone else above him in a British P4P list is odd and wrong in my opinion.

Okay, what you wrote makes a lot more sense now. If I had entered Afolabi then he would be in the top 15.

Ola Afolabi is scheduled to fight Marco Huck for the WBO title on December 5th. I will decide what to do about the Afolabi situation after that.

I think Jamie Moore is a bit low and should be ahead of Woods and Witter.

Barker, Murray, Macklin and Cleverly belong in the top 15.

I have (Irish) next to the Irish fighters to differentiate between them and the British fighters. I have called my lists the "British Top 30 P4P" for over 3 years and I don't really see the need to add "& Irish" to the title.

I can see why you would think that it would be more fitting to change the name, but I think that the current arrangement works well.

I don't know, Moore hasn't fought on the level that Witter and Woods have, even though he has looked very impressive at European title level recently. If he beats Rhodes then he might overtake the two of them, if he looks good.
brian13 wrote:Barker, Murray, Macklin and Cleverly belong in the top 15.
I think that this is a young gun vs old hand argument. I generally prefer to have the lesser experienced fighters prove themselves before they overtake the fighters who have been successful on a higher level, but are probably on their way down.

Fighters like Arthur have been strong European champions and held world titles, whereas fighters like Murray have looked good against top 10 domestic competition. I am not sure that the younger boxers won't be exposed when they fight boxers that are more on their skill level, so if in doubt I tend to go with those who have been there and proven themselves.

If Barker, Murray, Macklin and Cleverly all win their next scheduled fights then most of them will probably end up in the top 15.

Yes, I have been doing this list for quite a while now.

I think that posting it here on BoxRec acts as a sort of copyright.
