What is going on at Sky?
What is going on at Sky?
I have just found out that despite advertising the Rogan V Sexton rematch in their new season build up that Sky won't now be showing it and will instead be showing McCloskey/M'Baye the same night, WTF is going on? Will someone please explain to us the subscribers?
Surely the next instalment of the heavyweights, two prizefighter winners too, is far more appealing to all of us than watching the negative M'Baye prance around for 12 rounds, he makes Witter look like Tyson. I've never seen in a decent fight yet. They told us they were showing it, no, they promised us they would show it and now they aren't bloody showing it, why?
The Sky policy of proper titles is all very noble and when two fights for proper titles clash on the same night then yes, I agree they have to make a choice, but would they show Bolton V Wigan instead of Utd V City down the road, course not so why are they doing this to the Boxing fans?
Sky promise to bring the best events to their subscribers and yet are missing out on a much anticipated rematch in favour of a potential snore-bore for a European title featuring a man beaten by Gavin Rees and in my opinion Barrie Jones too FFS.
Proper titles both, one of these is going to miss out to to make way for Matthew Hattons IBO 'World' title shot in the same month - Who cares for that shite - come on Sky sort this mess out.
Warren, Hearn and Maloney are showing decent and competitive fights finally and FFN looks to be starting to gain some consistancy.
Come on Sky are we really not going to see Rogan V Sexton, one's already sold thousands and the other will be in some back-street Sports Hall, what does that tell you about which one the public want to see?
Please explain this daft decision to us the fans and YOUR customers.
What does everyone else think? Do we have a voice?

Re: What is going on at Sky?
You're joking! Sky have dumped this needle match.
Bonkers. This is they type of thing that forced me to quit 3 years ago. I signed back up last weekend.

Why did your employer Boxing chat put his fight back to this date?

Re: What is going on at Sky?
How will Rogan Sexton be financially viable without TV money?
Re: What is going on at Sky?
So the only Warren fight confirmed for sky is Cleverly vs Fry?

Re: What is going on at Sky?
Rogan was injured wasn't he? The date was the only one available at the venue in 2009 I believe.
Don't know why Sky cant allocate another date for McCloskey though. Seems both should be shown. And forget any Promotional prefernces, I know which one I would rather watch for entertainment and I pay for Sky too.
Seems a mess that could have been avoided. If Prizefighter is midweek, why can't one of these be?

Smith bill is on SKy. I think one of them should be moved to 27th.
Re: What is going on at Sky?
Been without Sky for over a year now and as long as they keep pulling shite like this I won't renew. YouTube shall suffice . . . yet again. :(

Re: What is going on at Sky?
This isn't on. I'm certain people would want to see Rogan and Sexton again rather after there first fight. What are sky playing at?
Re: What is going on at Sky?
Read the posts Wazza moved the rearranged Rogan fight to a date allocated to matchroom. Both of them need to comprise to get both shown.

This is what I'm told. Not good.leforge wrote:Read the posts Wazza moved the rearranged Rogan fight to a date allocated to matchroom.

Re: What is going on at Sky?
I was REALLY looking forward to this fight and can't afford to make the trip to Belfast. Totally gutted.
It's sure to be a great fight and I'm amazed Sky arn't going to show it. These are the fights I pay for Sky for![[icon_witsend.gif] :witzend:](./images/smilies/icon_witsend.gif)

Re: What is going on at Sky?
this is ridiculous........surely sky should know which one of these the public would rather watch live. the 1st rogan/sexton fight was a cracking contest, and the rematch is sure to be just as electric.
sky have got to find a way to get this bout televised live. it would be an insult to fight fans every where if m'bumble along for a draw was shown over rogan sexton.

Re: What is going on at Sky?
An injury and the only date availabel at the arena, allegedly. However, it wouldnt be the first time he moved arena for a fight to suit TV!! Khan Kotelnik from London to Manchester!?leforge wrote:Why did Wazza move it if he did not have sky date for it? It should be shown live someone sort it please!

Re: What is going on at Sky?
It was the only date at the venue, no choice. Sky could have had it. They gave the date to Matchroom after the re-arranged date was made public.
Re: What is going on at Sky?
Why couldnt it have been moved to a different arena? Isnt that what happened with Khan Kotelnik ?

WAIT A SECOND !!!
I have just called Sky's head office to find out what is going on (Because they are advertising the fight in their mag) and I have been told that the Rogan/Sexton fight IS ON. The lady said it will be on Sky Sports 1 on November 6th !
What is going on ???
Great News !!!

Re: What is going on at Sky?
I can see Matchroom moving date back as Mcluskey fans will be Rogan fans!
Re: What is going on at Sky?
I sure Froch might end up on sky, but does Hennessy want to much cash for it?
Re: What is going on at Sky?
