This is from a story on Harris threatening to pull out on the eve of the fight:Freiheit wrote:Harris got 450K for the fight against Urkal. the 750K he would have gotten from a Hatton fight he still had to pay 30% of to Main Events
"The night before the purse bid, Team Harris was told that they were being offered $450,000 for the fight. However, when all was said and done, the amount listed in the contract was $315,000 - or 70% of the original indicated amount.
Normally, when another promoter is the SOLE promoter of a fight in which Harris participates, then Main Events is entitled to 30% of the purse that Harris receives. However, should Main Events promote or co-promote his fight, the only money they are entitled to is that generated from the fight itself, and not from Harris' purse.
Main Events has contended all along that the offer was $315,000, but Team Harris now wonders how they came up with an amount that equates to exactly 30% less than what was originally mentioned."
