Not one person outside of Fury's immediate camp and followers saw it as a comfortable Fury win. I also haven't seen anything yet to indicate he's showing the slightest bit of respect for McD.
I guess Tyson blocked out the booing when the winner was announced. I see the similarity to Audley Harrison in that he's a bit deluded.

Think its good hes putting some space between the McD fight, prob picking up a few rounds vs a journey and fighting out of england. its all learning.

As long as he rematches McDermott within 3 fights all is good. (i think he has a point bbut the commentary a very very little bit)
- Fury's fighting 2 weeks later after supposedly absorbing an all time pounding from McD according to many on this forum.

How can this be when their champion won't be able to pick up a glove for another 4-6 months? How long does Fury have to wait for McD to sort himself between pies?

Fury might be 20-0, 19 KO by then, so I fancy McD to announce his retirement. Much easier and tastier to shove the pies in himself rather than having the gumshield shoved for him to chew on after it hits the canvas.
Have some respect for McDermott, he fought his heart out and deserved the win.

I think Fury needs to say very little. He was more than lucky to get the win with 99.9% of us seeing McDermott as the clear winner. He should be embarrassed to have the English belt which in his heart he knows belongs to McDermott. Never mind what he said after the fight, he was as surprised as we were when his arm was lifted. His corner told him to go for the KO because they knew he had lost. He needs to blast some guys out again to regain some self belief. That fight ruined his confidence, no matter what bullshit he comes out with. He wont convince me with words that he won that fight.

Actually the similarity doesnt stop at his gob. His left jab is more or less the same and he flinches and backs off in a similar way. He obviously has a lot more bottle than AH but most fighters have anyway. Time will tell when he faces another decent fighter.

I like Tyson Fury.

He comes across to me as an articulate, intelligent lad who uses his sharp mind to call out boxers and criticise them to build publicity, which is fair enough, but unlike some others who have done that, when he's not drumming up noise for some fight or other, or deliberately making himself a target, he offers some excellent -- and invariably sensible -- candid insights into his own psyche and the game as a whole.

There's not much he says that I would disagree with -- when it's not obvious PR -- and I simply think he's confident and honest.

The other thing I like is the fact he keeps busy. It seems that fighters now only fight four times a year if they're big names, and unfortunately, if they're big names right at the start, that means they start fighting once a quarter, which in my view is no good. These guys are much better fighting once a month and seeking out quality sparring, which Fury does.

I like him, and wish him every success.
Fury and intelligence don't mix well.

Guy thinks he would of stopped McDermott had it been a 12 rounder. This guys delusional and is being way too rushed without learning anything because his promoter is delusional and is a wannabe bigshot.

To be fair if it had been 12 rounds he would have knocked mcdermott out. he was turing his back on him and running away anyway. I think anyone who saw the fight would clearly agree he won the last two rounds the last one was a one sided beating.

- Where was the likes of you in the first Williams bout when McD needed the support against a clear robbery.

Williams spit his mouthpiece out, hit low, and was deducted 4 points for not wanting to fight, yet won the fight. I hollered on my forum then, to no avail.

Now this fight, McD appears to have adopted the Williams way, losing mouthpiece twice and turning his back and running to the ropes and the ref to keep from being KOed, so here I am supporting the fighter who actually came to fight.

See, I'm consistent in my scoring whereas most here don't even know how to score much less actually score a fight.

Clear winner is already chompin' the bit to fight in a couple of weeks. The loser is still whining and probably finishes the year on his couch. I'm sure he's a very decent fella, but quite a bit sore and beat up about now and needs to reset.

I'm a big Tyson Fury fan. He's confident (sometimes too much), but not disrespectful. He comes from fighting stock. Gypsy John, I think his uncle was Bartley Gorman "King of the Gypsies", so of course he's going to feel this way. He's active, constantly improving, and moving along very quickly. I wish him all the best, and hope he gets a good opponent in his next bout.

He is saying nothing more than you`d want and expect any other young prospect to say.

I also think he needs to rematch within the next 6mths before we give a blunt appraisal of his future prospects.

Those who predict he will amount to little more than what his father achieved in the game may well be proved correct if his performaces don`t vastly improve then.

I don't really care either way. So, it was a bad decision, when was that new in boxing? One thing though, Fury has a big mouth, but it makes him all the more interesting doesn't it?

Of all the British Heavyweights (baring Haye), Tyson is beginning to have the biggest draw. Is he good enough to reach world level? Probably not, but he's an interesting fighter with a bit of charisma about him. Even if McDermott got the decision, there would still be more interest in Fury's next fight.

- You illustrate perfectly the reason British heavyweight boxing was so underachieving all these years. Brits were actually rewarding their losers with wins and then aghast when they got knocked out by international competition.

Williams is shot to smithereens and has been for a number of years. He's been trading on his quite fortunate Tyson win. Promoters are always gonna favor a Williams over a McD, who, let's face it, he's generally game but there's no future in him compared to milking the Williams name.

Williams winning more of anything is laughable. Every time I tune in he's getting beat up. even being schooled to bits by a novice, Airich and only just pulled out a big KO.

Here you soft lads have been given a gift of considerable talent in Fury and you're all too daft to admire anything but the daisies pushing up around the corpulent Williams, McD, and the rest. Fury should consider relocating to a more hospitable locale.
