Personally, I would have thought Dave Garside/Matchroom could at least strike some TV deal with Tyne Tees or whatever they are called these days. They used to show local boxing, though it was a while back.REAL_DEAL wrote:no tv :x
Even if they got next to nowt for doing it, it would be good exposure.
Tyne Tees are a joke, boxing is not even publicised on the evening news, it doesnt even make the sports section. There hasnt been local boxing on local tv up here since mid 90's. Michael Hunter and Kev Bennett normally get on sky but it seems hey arnt this time... :(Ian 'Mr' McNeilly wrote:Personally, I would have thought Dave Garside/Matchroom could at least strike some TV deal with Tyne Tees or whatever they are called these days. Decent point re local TV. Hunter's WBF title win over De Milo got a bit of exposure on Tyne Tees while Benny's Commonwealth win was featured briefly on local BBC news on the Monday night. Surely it wouldn't be too hard to get something sorted? Have you seen the shite they turn out on a Friday night late doors? No wonder every f*cker hits the drink.
Anyway, good look Dean. Saw Benny this week and he is shaping up nicely. Know you will be in shape and it looks like being a cracker. Wouldn't mind a wager on this if anyone is willing to tickle my fancy?

Bit too far abroad for me. Besides, I've been to Hartlepool once when I used to live in Ripon and I'm in no rush to go back.
Shame there's no TV because I have a feeling that this will be a cracking domestic fight. No chance of one of your mates turning up with a hand-held camera and you making copies, Dean? I'd gladly pay to see the fight. Maybe Red Dragon or someone will be able to get their mits on it?

Yep, I noticed that story on ceefax last night, and someone on the other forum mentioned about the bbc website. Thanks for pointing it out though.jeej wrote:Dean, you made it onto the BBC website...
