Debra charity show
Tony Bellew is fighting nick okoth on friday night anyone no if sky will show highlights in the past thayve had it tuesday night but cant find anything its a shame bellew doesnt get the tv exposure his talent deserves
Re: Debra charity show
The problem with lots of our prospects is that when they fight they are not looking devastaing enough, they may get TKO's but thats not a brutal KO like when Benn, Tyson, Hamed were coming through they looked the absolute business and forced TV companies to take notice. Our new generation of fighters the olympians, Bellew, Chisora, Fury as so on just dont have much start quality and they dont look like world beaters who are so fearsome you just need to wacth'em.diggler wrote:Tony Bellew is fighting nick okoth on friday night anyone no if sky will show highlights in the past thayve had it tuesday night but cant find anything its a shame bellew doesnt get the tv exposure his talent deserves
Re: Debra charity show
bellew has got devastaing power i reckon hes gonna start knocking peole out now hes got his hand sorted
Re: Debra charity show
I'm not gonna dissagree but there power and theres Haye, Hamed, Tyson, Foreman, Benn power which no one at the moment has got coming through.diggler wrote:bellew has got devastaing power i reckon hes gonna start knocking peole out now hes got his hand sorted

you no nothing about bellews k.o power, obviously by your statement
name me a harder puncher than bellew in the u.k or even id go as far as saying in Europe, at light heavy ?
bellew has got 6 out of 9 so far in his k.o ratio. and thats only gunna get higher now that hes past 4 rounders. its not that the old fighters had better k.os on there belt, its boxing on t.v is not as popular. i was there when bellew k.od wayne brooks an unbeaten fighter and he was out on the floor with around 5 people around him trying to help him, but that never got shown, its all to do with boxing only getting televised for 2 hours per show, so its impossible to fit every1 in, but it shouldnt be like this there should be longer shows so we can watch the up and coming fighters coming through. i mean allot of the time there advertising other fights and showing clips of other fighters who are fighting in later dates, there is allot of rubbish on t.v that gets shown, i dont know why the t.v people cant put more boxing on?

Re: Debra charity show
Righthook - you're right about not being able to see up and coming fighters which is why Steve Wood is launching www.vipboxing.tv next month in order to give publicity and exposure to his ever-growing stable of quality boxers.

Re: Debra charity show
dont really understand your point teddy007??? you say fighters dont get shown coz they dont have the power to produce brutal k.os like the old fighters, so the t.v dont show them. what about calzaghe, hopkins, mayweather, etc? they dont have devastating power yet they get plenty of t.v coverage.teddy007 wrote:Sorry oh great 1, Your right I dont know too much about his power but if he hits as hard as them other mentioned fighters p4p I will eat my left foot.righthook wrote:teddy 007

and you say you will eat your hat if bellew has the power of the guys you mentioned. the guys you mentioned are 1 of a kind and have unbelievable power, but you shouldnt make assumptions on bellews power if youv never seen it first hand. i assure you that bellew hits harder than any light heavy in the u.k and possibly Europe, he fought as a heavy weight in the ams and out of 47 fights he won 40 and had 1 no contest, he had 32 k.os . so thats 32 0ut of 39 k.o wins. he has brought that power with him as a pro and now that hes a light heavy not many people will go the distance imo. As a pro he has 6 k.os out of 9, and has only been fighting 4 rounders. (oh and for the record foreman had only 1 more k.o in his first 9 pro fights and the 2 k.os he never got where an 8 rounder and 10 rounder so he had allot more rounds to get the k.o,) so if bellews amateur and pro record isnt very devastating power then what is ??????????
Re: Debra charity show
If he beats Nick Okoth in a round I would be impressed, 2 impressed, 3 not bad, 4 ok, 5 so so, 6 not that impressed. He would not be good if this went the distance in the sense his power would take a knock.
Re: Debra charity show
I won't be trying for any quick knockouts as I have nothing to prove to anyone, I will go in there and do a job and if the knockout comes the knockout comes wether it's in the 1st min or the last....
Thanks for all the comments as usual there much appreciated..

Re: Debra charity show
Was this another TV clash that wasn't sorted out between messrs Hearn and Warren? Usually the reason why the Debra show is on delayed is cause it is on Saturday. Odd that it is off TV on Friday.

Re: Debra charity show
JESUS he was tough!! A head like a coconut!!! I thought he was gone in the first but to give him credit he stayed in there and stuck it out.. I wanted rounds to be honest BUT when I hit him with the uppercut that put him down I knew it was over.. He was a true gentleman..
I had a good chat with him after it and he was very complementary towards me.. He said "I was the fastest and strongest boxer he'd faced" also said "Im far stronger than Lebedev" He said the russian could't drop him and he was never hurt, This guy is a warrior and a real honest pro. I really hope he comes good in his next fight I really do.
Once again I'd like to thank you all for the support as I really appreciate it.. The show was a great night last night and everyone dug into there pockets for a very worthwhile charity..
Finally Im now just looking forward to the October 30th bill in Liverpool..

Re: Debra charity show
Thanks again guys
Hands are swollen BUT it's all part and parcel of the game..Just wanting a test in Liverpool now. I would like a fight with Carl Dilks!! He has made a few statements I don't agree with like "Im the best light heavyweight in Liverpool" so I suggest he proves it in the Echo Arena on 30th October on the Smith Vs Quigley Bonanza!!
