Had this fight between WBA champ Jimmy Ellis and Henry Cooper occurred in 1969, what would have happened?
To me this is Ellis winning by rd 6, with Cooper spewing blood all over the place and down a time or two.

Re: Jimmy Ellis-Henry Cooper 1969
'enry would not agree, and says he would be have been bringing his 'ammer.
Though I think Ellis wins a UD. And crimson would be spread about.

Re: Jimmy Ellis-Henry Cooper 1969
the power would be with henry but the skill would be with ellis as long as ellis doesnt get acreless and get caught with enrys ammer ellis win s UD15
Re: Jimmy Ellis-Henry Cooper 1969
I see Ellis getting the win, most likely a UD or a MD.
Cooper at the end of the line has fight still in him, but
is out slicked and boxed by Ellis who is just at his best
around this time.

Re: Jimmy Ellis-Henry Cooper 1969
Well, you guys seem to see Cooper going the distance.
Maybe you all are right, but I just can't see it. I see Ellis having too many moves and being too slick and quick for 1969 Cooper, cutting him up and possibly even taking him out before round 6 or 7. Anybody remember the absolutely pummeling he gave Leotis Martin in rd one of their fight and his quick knockout of Persol? Remember Patterson putting 'Enery to sleep? I see a flashing overhand right from Jimmy putting Cooper down fairly early and Cooper gamely hanging on but not being able to get past 6 or 7.

I can see Ellis stopping Cooper. But i can also see it going to the cards.
