Sebastian Sylvester
Sebastian Sylvester
I watched the Sylvester - Lorenzo fight last night, has anyone else seen this and think it was a typical German robbery?
Re: Sebastian Sylvester
Didn't see it so can't comment, but I reckon this now means the likes of Barker and Macklin will want to go down the IBF route for a middleweight world title shot, Sylvester's no great shakes is he.

Re: Sebastian Sylvester
Looked close enough to me, and if it's remotely close in Germany, you KNOW the hometown boy is getting it. You could see how confident the promoter was, madly celebrating at the final bell like the scores were already announced - he's no fool.
The Germans like to keep it all in the family, as in world title belts, with Huck and Abraham celebrating ringside too.
Unusual behaviour by the usualy quiet German crowd, chanting, clapping and cheering their man home for the whole 12 rounds. Makes all the difference when the "hometown" fighter is actually German I guess, rather than Russian, Polish, Ukranian etc etc
Good on the female American judge, who shocked her kind & generous hosts by voting for.....the OTHER guy...!!
I don't expect to see her back in the Fatherland any time soon.

Re: Sebastian Sylvester
Sylvester is solid and techically sound but missing something. I don't see him moving any mountains and in an era without so many fractured belts he would be nothing higher than Euro level. As for Sauerland, I hate the way he does that ridiculous jig into the ring with his arms aloft before the result is even announced. He's not one bit behind what's going on.

Re: Sebastian Sylvester
Yeah he was thorughly outclassed by Sturm. He's some way short of true world-class IMO. If/when Macklin gets past Asikainen he should gun for Sylvester as already mentioned. He'll probably have to travel and will probably need a stoppage , but I thing he's capable of doing just that.steve689 wrote:Sylvester is solid and techically sound but missing something. Re: Sebastian Sylvester
Sturm got destroyed in his last fight and the judges gave it to him, it sort of spoils the sport when you see that happening.

Bang on mate, although I didn't think it was close at all... But then again, I'm no judge..MightyWarrior wrote:Looked close enough to me, and if it's remotely close in Germany, you KNOW the hometown boy is getting it. Those Germans are a strange old bunch - I wonder how well the usual pre fight violinist for an Abraham fight would go down before the main event in the UK..
