She's certainly the most famous and historically important, but was she the best?

 Yes she is but she wasn't that good even though she went the distance with the regarded p4p at one point.

Would she do as well as world kickboxing champ Pele Reid did in western boxing?

+1.

I find her really hard to watch in interviews, compare her to how Katie Taylor comes across - no contest on who is the best advert for the sport.

Cant understand how if she's nice in real life how she comes over as a bit of a brash bully in interviews.

Has any other British female boxer achieved what she has? The talent pool seems crap to me so I'd say she's quite safely the best ever.

As for her personality, I'm indifferent, sometimes she comes across well but other times she comes across as another bird with a chip on her shoulder.

if she had a fraction of the success that the likes of Jonathon Thaxton, Samart Payakarun, Sot Chitlada, Khaosai Galaxy, Troy Dorsey, Matt Skelton, Nigel Benn etc etc have had in western boxing, she would be doing ok though :TU:

I think the real question here Oliver is: does anyone care?

Really surprised at that. Shame she comes over badly (in my opinion) on the TV then.

i think alot of fighters adopt a persona (im not speking about coutch here as i said earlier never seen and interview) but floyd is supposed to be kind and curtious away from the media glare and leonard had a mean streak in him out of the ring

This is so true. I interviewed her about 15 years ago and she was really nice, but just a real 'salt of the earth' type. Didn't take herself too seriously and was genuinely committed to her boxing career.
I remember one classic anecdote she told me about where she got involved in a fight in a pub in Fleetwood (where she was brought up) and a fella headbutted her... and only succeeded in knocking himself out
