Haye Offers To Spar Fury

Post by teddy007 »

"David Haye is eager to spar with young heavyweight Tyson Fury ahead of his showdown with WBA title holder Nikolai Valuev in November.
Former undisputed cruiserweight king Haye will take on the 7ft 2ins Russian giant in Germany on November 7 in only his second fight in the heavyweight division.
Fury, meanwhile, who was fortunate to maintain his undefeated record when awarded victory in his last fight against John McDermott, has long complained about a dearth of willing sparring partners.
And at approximately 6ft 8ins tall he could provide Haye with a good opportunity to test his skills against a much larger man.
"If Tyson Fury is available, then yes," Haye said. "I'm around at the moment and if he's got a fight coming up I am more than willing to spar with him. He doesn't have to pay me, that's for sure!
"If he wants to come down and do some work with me I'd more than appreciate it and I'm sure he would also."
Confidence

Regardless of whether Haye gets Fury in the ring or not, the Londoner's trainer Adam Booth is confident his charge has the skill to adapt to Valuev's size.
"I don't necessarily think Valuev's style is wrong for David," Booth said. "He's always thrived on taller and bigger opponents and ever since he was young he has always sparred with people heavier than him.
"But we're not underestimating Valuev. There's an easy, obvious statement to make about Valuev that he's big so he's slow.
"But he's actually not that slow, if you look at the tapes of his left hand. And he's very effective at going 12 rounds.
"Although he's even admitted himself he is still learning to box, he's only got to be a certain percentage of what other fighters have to be because he's got those attributes of his height and his weight to carry him along.
"You have to look at what he does best, not what he does worst, so we'll prepare David for what Valuev does best and then have the answers for that."

Come on then Fury, step up to the plate and put your money where your great big mouth is and i would like to know what the worlds hardest street fighter sorry i mean BIG BAD John Fury  would think of that.

PS Agreed. After the Big John scandal he needs to talk less and show us what he can do.

- Dear me, teddies are certainly wonderful at stepping up heaping plates and warm toddies, but Tyson has a career to properly manage and has no need for meaningless spars against little chaps.

He'd learn more against Chad Dawson or Adamek if he wants a little'un to spar with. Only way Fury gets Haye in the ring for a proper dustup is after Valuev knocks him out, so Fury's better served holding his fire until the candy lad has to make a go at resurrecting his shattered career.

So are you saying that Fury can beat Haye? Simple yes or no answer.

Haye is a lot bigger than Dawson and Adamek, and Fury needs quality sparring from world class fighters if he is going to improve.

- Ho-Ho, Teddyoyo, me thinks the easy money goes on Haye ducking Fury's title offer like he consecutively did Chagaev, Wlad, and Vitali's title offers.

Maybe the 4th offer works like a charm for him, more likely after getting KOed by Valuev in his 4th consecutive short money title offer, me thinks Haye won't want to get knocked out for his 5th consecutive short money title offer by Fury. After all, young Fury is the star and the future of heavyweight boxing, heir apparent to the Klitschkos, not Haye who's still sorting his undies trying to figure where he misplaced his cajones!

I'm struggling to see the sarcasm in this post.

Are you being serious?

Haye apparently gave Audley a bit of a hiding a couple of years ago when he was cruiserweight. He'd really have to put the kid gloves on for Fury.

It would be a good expierence for Fury to fight a top class operater like Haye but I dont think Haye would get much out of it he needs top class sparring as he is fighting for a world title

No problem, you're welcome. When there's something I don't understand my first port of call is Google. It usually has the answer.

If someone uses a weird phrase or word, there's also Urban Dictionary.
