Why has Wazza been a bad Manager for Small?
Re: Anthony Small?
If he is getting in the way of Small getting a promoter then he is being a very bad manager.twenty six wrote:Why has Wazza been a bad Manager for Small?

Re: Anthony Small?
You can read more into things than exist.
Small is under contract with Wazza as his Manager.
Under his guidance he has become British and Commonwealth champion.
Small then went public, saying he was looking for a Promotor as a free agent.
Would you, as a Promotor, risk taking on contractually a boxer who is Managed by someone - who is also a rival Promotor ?
It's as simple as that.
Small thought he was being a big time Charlie by going public and presumably thought every Promotor would be bending over backwards with mega money deals.
Sadly not.
I've absolutely no doubt there are interested parties, but there's a way of going about things and for a change his arrogance has bit him on the arse.

Re: Anthony Small?
How many fighters has Warren managed that are promoted by someone else? Did the arrangement work well?twenty six wrote:Would you, as a Promotor, risk taking on contractually a boxer who is Managed by someone - who is also a rival Promotor ?

If Warren has a decent reputation as a manager of boxers promoted by others, then I would probably take the risk.
Re: Anthony Small?
I know feck all about the situation but I suspected, as twenty six confirmed, he was expecting a big time deal after beating Hall and it never materialised. He must feel that he can manage himself and fight on the show of the highest bidder and all that but I think he should just stick with Warren. And by the sound of it, he doesn't have much choic anyway!

There is no doubt about it, the man is a arrogant moron but as far as talent goes he is definitely at European level now and possibly a World title challenger 18 months down the line, maybe he is well entitled to make his mouth go and push his promoter into making the fights he needs.twenty six wrote:You can read more into things than exist.

Re: Anthony Small?
Why does FW need to pay Small big bucks for a new promotional contract while it is unlikely other promoters will touch him as he is still under a managerial contract to alledgedlymrrocco wrote:despite being a prat, he is sellable though - why the lack of interest by asllegedly?Spud wrote:Spot on!!! - absolutely!!!twenty six wrote:You can read more into things than exist.

Re: Anthony Small?
He's had one offer to my knowledge, and fair enough he'll take it.
However I wonder seriously if that offer is now in jeopardy now that he has been told in no uncertain terms who his Manager is, and the existance of a Contract.

Re: Anthony Small?
Just a question, please try not to turn this into a libel thread, but was Small's promotion contract with SN or FW. Anychance that might be a prob?
Anyway - I don't think Small needs to worry at the moment, he's been quite active - hopefully, the situation will resolve soon. No dates have been given (to my knowledge) on the Olympians and Khan who last fought on the same bill as Small's last fight.

I don't know Stu - but in honesty it's irrelevent.
Fact is Wazza IS his Manager, and he's contractually tied to him.
