Man, I’ve missed Kauffman.
Silkov, you are obviously a racist for not thinking Harrison is the best feather in the world right now.
Sorry....I thought I’d just get it in there before good ol' Don does.
As for Brodie, sadly, he's had his day as a top level fighter. Even at his peak I’d have picked Harrison to beat him up badly. There is just too much of a size difference for there to have been any other result.
Maloney is well aware of this, and IMO, has made himself out to be a fool (becoming an increasingly regular occurrence) for calling out a man who is badly faded, and another man (in Cook) who is not ready to make that step up yet. Harrison should be going in against the best now, not calling out guys like Brodie. Don, you're an even bigger fool for buying that crap. To steal one of your phrases: "anyone who knows their boxing" knows that your bias has blinded you to the point of no return, and you're a prize dick too.

It's funny how a lot of you fellas are being horrible to Scott Harrison in this thread(check page 1) but the minute i wind you up about Michael Brodie you almost take a fornicating heart attack!

C'mon, you've got to admit it, you are a bit of a dick. You're the only Harrison troll i've ever seen, and that's qualification enough for me.Don_Kauffman wrote:You're the prize dick!

And anyway, do you think that Brodie is still a reasonable fight for your idol, or do you believe (as i do) that it's a fight that proves nothing?

First off, for what it's worth, i think Harrison would beat Brodie, I think he's too strong for him and too big too. Brodie is small for a featherweight and looked a lot smaller than Chi.
I think Harrison would beat Chi too, but I don't think it would be easy by any stretch.
So what if Brodie doesn't want to face Harrison? There are plenty of domestic matchups that never happen in this country. is there any need to mention them? When was the last time we saw two of the countries top fighters face one another?
if belts are so meaningless, then why is Scott Harrison's belt mentioned all the bloody time then? Why is the fact that he's got more defences that Watt and Buchanan being talked about if it means nothing?
Belts mean money, that's why they are always mentioned every time Harrison or Hatton defend their titles. They don't say in the presentation, Ricky Hatton fights a 12 round non-title bout do they? Y Why is Calzaghe crowing about having equalled Eubank's record if the belt is so meangingless.
Belts are only meaningless if the quality of opposition during a reign is pathetic. If a fighter holds a belt against good quality opposition it enhances the prestige of that title and that organisation. I think Harrison's reign has been ok so far, but bowling over midget ethiopians certainly does nothing to enhance it.
Belts make fighters money, and that's why there are so bloody many of them.
Brodie had the bollocks to take Chi on in a rematch knowing it would be a hellish ordeal. I hardly think anyone can accuse Brodie of cowardice, what's Chi, a fornicating soft touch?
Who are you to mock Brodie? He showed a lot of bollocks in both fights with Chi, who really mauled him in the second bout.
You get in the ring with In-Jin Chi, you'll be crying within 20 seconds mate.
That Harrison would beat Brodie?
That Chi would kick your ass?
That Brodie has a warriors heart?
That some sections of the mainstream press are harping on about Harrison's defences of the WBO belt?
That his blowout of Kebede has done him no favours?
That many major domestic matchups don't happen?
That there are a proliferation of belts because of the money involved?
Tell me which one of those statements you can possibly refute?

Sorry if it seems like im only responding to your posts mate
but i reckon the win over Chacon was definetly credible, i may be mistaken but im pretty sure that he was favoured to beat Harrison at the time of there bout. Also a lot of people felt Abelyan and Polo would give him a lot of trouble and you cant deny he dispatched them both quite impressivly.
I do think youve made some valid points on the subject which i cant argue with and I honestly aint no Harrison Nuthugger
but just feel he's getting too much stick the last few days.

There was a lot of history between Scott and that guy, who coincidently is the boss of one of my mates - he's meant to be a complete tosser anyway and probably deserved what he got. By the way if i recall didnt Harrison get found not guiltymrbassie wrote:Brodie's a likable guy who doesn't team up with his mates to batter guy's on their own in pub toilets. That could be why.

I know what belts mean to the fighters themselves! I was talking about how belts dont mean shit to me as a boxing fan. I want to see the best fighters in the world fighting each other, and i really don't give a toss what title is on the line. Manny Pacquiao is thought of as the best Featherweight in the world at the moment and he doesn't hold a version of the world title.jamesmcdonnell wrote:Which bit?Don_Kauffman wrote:What a load of bullshitjamesmcdonnell wrote: What bollocks....

Yes, I agree, all i want to see is the best fight the best. However, that's not always possible. Some guys want to fight the best, but people avoid them, because they have a belt themselves. However, if a guy can defend his belt for as long as HOpkins has, you come to recognise him as the best, even if he didn't have them all.
I think Marquez is the best right now. He should have come away with the decision against Marquez after that fight. After the 1st round, he came on to dominate almost every other round.
I think he will do Manny up like a kipper if he can avoid the shaky start. Considering how badly he got whacked in the first round, he handled Manny pretty easy after that.

Everyone was saying that Harrison V Brodie was a 50/50 fight just after Brodie fought Chi for the first time last year. Brodie then lost to Chi in their rematch and was stopped for the FIRST time in his career against a good world class fighter and suddenly he's shot! And if Harrison beats him it proves nothing! This is just so you can take credit away from Scott if he ever gets the chance to beat Brodie by saying Harrison beat a shot fighter. There is a lot of better fights out there for Scott but a fight with Brodie definately wouldn't be pointless if they met any time soon.glittermonkey wrote:C'mon, you've got to admit it, you are a bit of a dick. Brodie took a hell of a battering in their first fight, and tried his guts out to stop Chi coming on, in the second fight, there wasn't much difference, except that Brodie wilted much much faster.
I don't know that he's shot, but he's got quite a few miles on the clock, and was at his best at Super Bantam.
If you read my earlier posts you'll see that my main point is that Harrison is overprotected and overrated by many... I'm not saying he's not a good fighter which he is I'm saying he needs to step up and he is no way a legend or even half way to becoming a legend yet.Exile wrote:Silkov

Harrison has gained a lot of praise in the past for beating fighters like Robinson, Patterson, mcculloch etc but all these fighters were well past their best and again anyone who knows their boxing and is unbaised would probably agree with me!.
And my criticism of Harrison has nothing to do with him being Scottish... I have criticised Hatton even more so there's your racist for you.... the real racists are the people who try and play the Braveheart card everytime someone says something uncomplimentry about a Scottish fighter!... if Harrison was from London I'd still be saying that he is an arrogant arse who should put his fists where his mouth is and stop picking on faded Bantamweights and Light-Featherweights!... 8)

Think your getting me mixed up with another poster on the forum, not once have i played the braveheart card or accused anyone of slagging him for being scottish and i certainly never labelled you of being racist - like i said earlier i agree with a lot of what you have said.

Harrison doesn't talk much, but he does his talking in the ring and has done nothing to be called "an arrogant arse" by a fella who doesn't know much about boxing. Harrison doesn't talk much! christ !! you obviously haven't been listening to your idols rants about what a legend he's becoming and his often expoused views about how he is going to crush his latest dangerous challenger and hoiw he really wants to unify the titles (but theyre all scared of him I suppose!) .....I guess you've been too busy staring at Scotts picture to play attention to the never ending tripe coming from his mouth!....
