Benn vs Piper... bravo at midnight
Piper vs Benn on at 12am tonight. Should be good.
Channel 5 showed Highlights a few weeks back, but Bravo have an hour segment and tend to fit in 10 rounds.
As a Welshman this is a hardbreaking fight although on second viewing (well the highlights from five) Benn seemed to be well on his way to winning a points decision, not how I orginally remembered it as.
Will look forward to watching it tonight.

I watched a little bit of it. i was flicking back and forth to the UFC.
Good fight. If Piper had more power, he would have controlled the fight a bit more but Benn just killed him on the inside. Piper was doing the right things early on by leaning on Benn when he came close, but the damage took its toll in the end. I liked the way he nodded at the ref whe he stopped the fight (a little late). Piper looks so different nowadays!
I'd take Piper to beat Calzaghe.

I'd forgotten just how big Piper was. He was absolutely massive at super middle. He still fought the way i remember though, chin in the air, and very, very upright.
Really, looking back, he was tailor made for someone like Benn. Just too much body there for Benn to attack, and when the hands started coming down, there was only going to be one winner.
