COME ON KEBEDE!!!!
I think Harrison v Brodie is a reasonable match and a good payday for both guys - Brodie has had some wars but I wouldnt write him off just yet.
Fact is there is no chance Warren is going to get any of the big names over here i.e. Marquez, Pac etc as he has proved beyond doubt with his handling of Calzaghe and Hatton that he doesnt want his guys fighting the best and most of all doesnt really have the clout to make the big fights happen for his men against the very best. Given that, I think Brodie is a reasonable match, and I wouldnt say its as clearcut a result as everyone seems to think. If Medina could beat him and he's not the biggest featherweight in the world then Brodie has a chance surely? Harrison starts favourite of course but some people are talking about it like it would be a mismatch which is absurd.

Ahh, i think you might stuggle to find a quote from me saying Harrison vs Brodie would be a 50/50 fight. It's always been clear to me that Harrison would be a massive favourite should the fight happen. He has a huge size advantage, he's obviously stronger, younger, fresher, and he hits harder.Don_Kauffman wrote:Everyone was saying that Harrison V Brodie was a 50/50 fight just after Brodie fought Chi for the first time last year. Brodie then lost to Chi in their rematch and was stopped for the FIRST time in his career against a good world class fighter and suddenly he's shot! And if Harrison beats him it proves nothing! This is just so you can take credit away from Scott if he ever gets the chance to beat Brodie by saying Harrison beat a shot fighter. There is a lot of better fights out there for Scott but a fight with Brodie definately wouldn't be pointless if they met any time soon.glittermonkey wrote:C'mon, you've got to admit it, you are a bit of a dick. It's funny how a lot of you fellas are being horrible to Scott Harrison in this thread(check page 1) but the minute i wind you up about Michael Brodie you almost take a fornicating heart attack!
And anyway, do you think that Brodie is still a reasonable fight for your idol, or do you believe (as i do) that it's a fight that proves nothing?
Add to that the fact that Brodie has been in one hard fight too many, marks up easily, and has never been able to stop himself from being drawn into a war, and it's a nothing fight for Harrison. I wouldn't go so far as to say that Brodie is shot, because, as you say, it was a world class fighter that beat him last time, but he's definately on the slide. Looking at it objectively he was lucky to get a draw in the first Chi fight, and he was beaten up badly in the second. Harrison should be going after the winner, not the guy who got stopped in 7.

Of course he should go after Chi, but can the blame be put on him entirely if the Brodie fight happens? I'd say its more likely to be Warren/Maloney's doing if he faces Brodie as opposed to Chi - Harrison does seem to genuinely want to fight the best if you ask me.

Medina is as slippery as an Eel, and had the perfect style to cause Harrison problems, though in the rematch, Harrison dealt with him relatively easily for the majority of the fight.007 wrote:I think Harrison v Brodie is a reasonable match and a good payday for both guys - Brodie has had some wars but I wouldnt write him off just yet.

Brodie is nowhere near as agile, and always gets drawn into a battle. Look at the fight with Pastor Maurin, he nearly got decapitated by a wild brawler like that. Brodie is a good little fighter, on the fringes of world class, but he left the best of himself at Super Bantam, much like McCulloch.
At featherweight if you haven't got a big punch, or good evasive skills, you're going to struggle against Harrison.
It would be interesting to see how Harrison's natural strength would match up against someone like Pacquaio. Whilst I would favour Pacquaio, he hasn't faced a big featherweight like Harrison yet.

I agree with that... he does seem to genuinely want to fight the best and needs to step up. He does himself no favours with his attitude (I am a legend), and beating up people with your friends shows cowardice. However, he is a robotic (more so than Vitali) fighter with only strength on his side and thats not enough to beat the likes of Pacman, Marquez, Barrera and Chi.

Good point, styles are different but Medina was also considered past his best I guess that is what I was getting at... I think - heavy weekend! ;)
I just dont think Harrison v Brodie is as much of a mismatch as most people are saying. Brodie did come off second best to Chi in the rematch but I thought Chi was awesome in that second fight and really on his game. Brodie may not be completely done yet.

Waste of time for all concerned really to be honset I half expected it the guy had no one of any note on his record though you can't really blame
Harrison he did what he had to do and it was not his fault that his foe was not up to scratch. I actually think he is the second best fighter in the country my first is Johnny Nelson who I think is vastly underated. I would like to see him fight Brodie.

Think were going to have to disagree on this one mate. Firstly you talk as though the guy was beat up by a gang of blokes which to be frank is complete bollocks.mrbassie wrote:I wouldn't have all my mates join in if he was on his own.Exile wrote:mrbassie wrote: Ohh found not guilty, oh well then he mustn't have done itI suppose he walked into several doors. What allegedly happened was Scotts brother in law met the guy who beat up his sister in the club and got into an arguement with the conclusion being the woman beater getting a beating from the girls brother.
If Scott got involved then so what, he may be a boxer but he is also human and at the end of the day woman beaters are cowards and scum who deserve to get a hell of a lot more damage done to them than a couple of slaps in a pub toilet.
If you ask me the guy got off lightly. Beating up woman is a definite no-no in my book so by saying Harrison was out of order, to me says a lot.
Have you ever met a girl who was the victim of domestic abuse? I come across this a lot in my line of work and trust me the aggressors dont deserve to be pissed on if they were on fire.
yes I have, but ten on one, a hundred on one or two on one still isn't a fair fight. It's not just that though, Harrison doesn't come across as a good guy, not imo anyway, there are bully vibes. I'll hold my hands up and admit I plain just don't like him. Whereas Brodie (which was the original point) invokes Bruno syndrome.

That would be a mismatch, IMO, much as I like Brodie. If he had trouble with Chi's size, he's going to have all kinds of problems with a full cruiserweight who's done heavyweight before now.Chris the fighter wrote:my first is Johnny Nelson who I think is vastly underated. And seriously...
I agree with your assessment, but the trouble is that's so open to conjecture because these guys aren't providing viable points of comparison.
I'd be interested to see Harrison against Michael Gomez. Clearly not going to happen but I'd like to see it.

As much as you dislike Harrison wouldnt you love it to see him do a number on that complete twat Arthur.
That would make my year as i cannot stand the guy
I reckon this is a fight that could happen and would have the potential to be an absolute stormer of a scrap.

I'd absolutely love that! But I'm not quite sure he would be able to do it.

I'd absolutely love that! But I'm not quite sure he would be able to do it.He MIGHT outgun gomez (it would be a brawl), but I feel Arthur would outbox him quite a bit. Harrison wouldn't overpower Arthur like he does with all of his other opponents. Arthur showed a good chin against Gomez and almost came back, even though he got rocked. Arthur would serve Harrison.
Harrison would beat both. Whatever you say about Harrison he is operating in pretty good class, and is a proven world performer (Chacon, Medina) - Gomez and Arthur are domestic/dodgy import level.
Total mismatches at the moment.
