Can Keith Long upset the Skelton parade ???

Post by Foggy »

I've never seen Keith Long fight so i was just wondering does anyone think he has a realistic chance against Skelton, or will it be a easy pushover for Matt (i'm actually looking forward to this cos i like watchin Skelton, i personally think he's an entertaining fighter, i'd love to see what he could do against Bryd, Ruiz n sum ov the other top boys in the division)

its gonna be ugly and about heart and giuts, could be exciting if technically a tad short.

Sounds good, i'd rather see a good slugfest than a technical fight, Skelton by KO

against a fellow "brother" expect Long to hang tough. He showed great resiliance against Williams and assuming he is as up for it as he was then he could make it a hard night for Skelton. Long is very strong, will be interesting to see how the compare in the clinch as Skelton is also a bull inside

I think its a tough fight to call, Long has been inactive but gave Williams problems. He gives me the impression that he is mentally stronger than Sprott and also physically stronger (if not as good technically). I think he poses a bigger threat to Skelton than Sprott did.

As for Long being KO'd, I don't know I mean Williams stopped Sprott twice, but couldn't KO Long.

The inactivity could be a factor, but it might not be as great because Skelton's style is very crude. I think the crucial factor is whether Long can hurt Skelton. I'm not convinced Long has the stamina to outwork Skelton, but if he can get Skelton going backwards he can win.

Its going to be wild and I tendadively tipping a new champion.

In a word, no. Long is maybe even more limited than Skelton, plus his workrate isn't on a par. However, Long is the strong, durable type, so i can't really see Skelton stopping him. It's going to be an awful fight (one of those car crash affairs, that you just can't help watching), but i think that Skelton should just edge it on points.

It's going to be bowling-shoe-ugly. We can only hope that it's also fun in a perverse kinda way, like Skelton/Mirovic. Skelton on pts or late stoppage, for me.
