Sunderland undercard
Any news on this? The boxrec schedule has Edwards vs Bayaar, and McDonnell vs McFadyen on the bill but both of these are going ahead on the Bolton show.
Hopefully it won't just be a main event and 10 'prospect vs journeyman' bouts.

Re: Sunderland undercard
He'd be a good addition to the card, as is David Price, but nobody expects their fights to be competitive in the slightest. The last show in Sunderland was exactly the same.
There is a very good main event in Hunter vs booth, but the least you should expect for your money is 2 or 3 real fights. Not necessarily big names, just evenly matched contests. I just think it's a shame Frank is relying on Tony Jeffries to sell the place out and not making an effort with the undercard.

So you are telling us Booth and Hunter can't sell tickets, Tony sells well but the undercard fighter all so sell there share of tickets, This show is not built around one fighter. There Paul Holborn vs Henry Castle.WestEndRiot wrote:He'd be a good addition to the card, as is David Price, but nobody expects their fights to be competitive in the slightest. Gary Skyes?
Re: Sunderland undercard
I would love to see Luis Garcia on the card and the other Cuban lad not Acosta the other one that's training with McCrory.
Still havent seen these Cubans in action but they come with a real reputation and if they are any good they need some TV exposure like the Cubans over in America get.

No i wasn't judging anyone else's ability to sell tickets. I'm sure all the local lads will sell their share. The point i was making was that Jeffries is the hometown hero and olympic medalist and would sell the place out no matter who else was fighting.FtmPress wrote:So you are telling us Booth and Hunter can't sell tickets, Tony sells well but the undercard fighter all so sell there share of tickets, This show is not built around one fighter. Holborn vs Castle wasn't on the schedule when i posted, but that's exactly the type of well matched fight i was talking about.

Re: Sunderland undercard
who they with then?
Mike Perez was the other guy I was looking for he's the heavyweight.
these boys need to keep themselves active and get themselves heard like I said in the previous post.

Re: Sunderland undercard
Two days before the show and it's exactly as i said in the first post. 13 fights and only one of them we don't already know who's won. Very, very poor for a live tv bill and i'll stand by what i originally said. The tickets have been sold so don't bother making an effort with the undercard. Not even an area title fight. Just the usual prospect vs overmatched journeyman 12 times.
Contrast this with FIVE title fights the following week on a show from the same promoter.
Just to clarify, i don't expect a bill full of star names and title fights. All i'd like to see is the odd fight between two well matched boxers.

Re: Sunderland undercard
I was looking forward to watching Adil Anwar against Mullen on this undercard, I noticed it off anyone know why ? Good fighter the Platinum Kid.
Re: Sunderland undercard
Contrast that with Hatton promotions next bill in stoke, some great 50/50's on there.WestEndRiot wrote:Two days before the show and it's exactly as i said in the first post. 13 fights and only one of them we don't already know who's won.
