Scotsman Alex Arthur have accepted a position as official challenger for EBU 130 lb titlist Boris Sinitsin, who beat another Scot, Craig Docherty, in his last defence. Boris probably don´t mind another fight in Glasgow.
I'd fancy Arthur in this one as long as he doesn't get sloppy and concentrates from start to finish which he might find hard to do against a higher quality opponent.
He needs to crack on now, he's done nothing since Gomez, honestly sometimes the speed these fighters are moved at you would think a boxers career lasted 25 years!
Arthur should beat Sinitsin quite handily. I thought Docherty's performance against him was terrible. With a little rise in workrate Docherty could have won quite easily but just refused to commit himself until it was too late.
I think that Docherty froze somewhat against Sinitsin, the fight was there for the winning, but he was much more tentitive than usual. I don't envisage Arthur having the same problems. If his defence really has improved (let's face it, Sinitsin will be more of a test of that than Odumase, who was pretty much beaten into his shell early on), then he should be able to win with relative ease. I'm glad he's not jumping straight back in with Gomez, IMO he's choosing the right path here.
