I believe him.
He was never actually "knocked out", as "they" would have you believe.
I have believed, for a long time now, that he was actually shot in the arse with a tranquilizer dart, from an unknown gunman firing though an open window, standing on a grassy knoll outside the arena.

I think AH has probably got loads of confidence in himself before a fight, then when he steps in the ring that old fear of being hit comes back to him.
